    Well moll I was in there shoes once so aslong as they're not causing any trouble I won't try and stop them

    And there's plenty of places a dog is no use and entry of jobs they're no use for. I spent many a year shooting and got much better numbers than I did with dogs but I kept the dogs on as I preferred shooting. Yes as a younger man I ran with the foxes and slept with the hounds but now I just stick to my little bit of land with my dogs and enjoy the sport

    That's where your wrong leveller, if a man I kind enough to show me his ground I would never return. I would however go onto ground I didn't have permission on and use my wits and gile to take all manner of game now to me thats what made that game deserved because I was able to do it without be detected. But nowadays I have plenty of land to run my dogs on and what would I do if I knew someone else had been on my land?     It's somewhere at my fathers but even when I have checked I wouldn't publish it on here especially with ldr now not being present on here. I have looked and there isn't tales of it all on here as I checked at the time when I found it

    I know he did chart and as I said the diary says he woul have done well at any form of competition. Its only a season or so in there but we'll filled out, just wish there was some stories behind the keepings mate

    I know there are exceptions mate I was trying to say how anyone doing peat control wouldn't get a dog as they aren't the best metho so that argument goes out the window

    Why should they get permission? I got a dog knowing I would have to poach - stopped me fighting,drinking, taking drugs, selling drugs and much other stuff. I learnt a lot by not having permission for the first several years, stuff I would have never learnt if I had permission. Whether you agree or not it was that poaching that taught me field craft as poaching causes you to be quiet, careful with the lamp and careful whom you take to land you have found. I respect my dogs, quarry and the land in my opinion more because I started out poaching

    It's quiet funny because from what I can see he was an all rounder of epic proportions. My father bought a book of eBay and had a diary in it, the cover was used as a diary. Turns out was ldrs and it was an interesting read to say none the least mate.

    Shooting is more humane, quicker, easier and better for pest control. I love hunting with dogs but it's not the best method for anything but sport. People don't get into dogs for pest control so why would they get permission before the dog - look at corridor as an example. He's startin out because he loves his dog

    Can't edit because on silly phone but moll a you said you do it mainly for the dogs the same reason the people that don't have permission. The most effective method for pest control is a gun so why not shoot?

    Yes i can see your point regarding tradition/lurchers But i has gone wayyyyyyyy beyond that now, less land to hunt and a great many more people hunting, people do not hunt because they need the food any more, in fact most people do not hunt for any other reason than bragging rights So why do you hunt?
