    Depends on the bitch, my old bitch would not behave for love nor money in season. Would not retrieve and would hunt up, usually about 3 weeks before and would stop 3 weeks after season so was less hassle to not work her but just road walk her around her season

    Chris completely agree with eyesign being shit, my father has a big old chequer cock that has what we call 'fish eye' . It has nearly no colour in hiseye and he often throws this in his offspring, he earnt his spot in the stock loft and has been there as long as I can remember. At the same time as was said already as soon as most of us handle a bird we look at the eye and I know it means nothing but you have to be honest a nice eye on a good bird does add to the charm
