Enjoyed watching that Fred, as Jack said the old lad does it differently. Will his way of netting work..yes without a doubt but its a lot of faffing around to be super efficient. I really used to enjoy our nights netting up int dales with old smithie but life sent me a curved ball and I needed a long time out of everything to recuperate.
I've just knocked up a couple of hundred 9mm lead using a lead melting pot and a Lee mould. Top tip is to keep fluxing the lead with bees wax to get rid of the crap and keep the spout clean .
I was chatting to a lad about the apex , it ended up with me picking up a ply apex from him to try. Squirrel every where this morning but none stopping for a shot. I must admit the apex is a very nice catty to shoot.
This pup messed up so many shots at squirrel that i did consider leaving her at home but it's all a matter of time before it clicks .. wouldn't go out without her now.
I was using 11mm steel but I can't get them at a good enough price anymore . So I decided to bite the bullet and make my own lead 9.5mm.. the fly true and hit like a truck
Nothing worse mate, had it happen a few times, last one was someone's spaniel with a rabbit I shot on a paddock, the fecker came out of nowhere, picked up the rabbit and hightailed it back in wood. What catty ya shooting ?.
You have to use Amber belt and if your using that and can't tie on then it's clips. Here's a natty with no band grooves tied with Amber belt. Never had one slip.
