Some time back I watched a lads lurcher bitch jump over a sheep fence chasing a rabbit, the rabbit came back through and the bitch jumped back over this went on over a distance up the fence she did nail it in the end but it was absolutely fekin brilliant to see... imo a dog that don’t jump is very limited in where you can run it and the amount of gear it takes.

Bit of a frost this morning at 05.45am, we walked a old railway line to the woods instead of going over the fields, didn’t want the pup putting anything big up and going for a long gallop with the ground being hard. The ground was good in both woods and he hunted up a few rabbits coming close on one ( sure he’s on first name terms with it as he runs one regular in the same spot ?). Only saw two squirrels and took this one at around 20odd yards.. head shot, stone dead ! The pigeon was a good 30 yards with the 11mm steel dropping him with a neck shot. Yes I was taught with the grass sod and it definitely works, Goldtops are something I’ve never had but Id love some.

This is what I use , I put soil in the bottom ( helps stability and gives moisture which in turn helps with humidity) I then put shavings on top, I have very good hatch rates using this method, one thing... two days before the eggs are going to hatch throw the Broody off the have a crap, when she goes back on turn the drum around to face a wall that way she won’t try and take any early chicks to feed leaving the others that are due to hatch.

Charts, the duck eggs take 28 days to hatch so should be put under for five days before the hens eggs which take 21 days and they should all hatch around the same time.

Yeah there is one squirrel who heads for a small three hole rabbit warren it jumps 20 ft to the ground every time, he makes it by the skin of his teeth . The pup is so close to nailing it, but hey it’s entertaining to see. I’m taking a good mate out this coming weekend and we should have a laugh. I make the tubes myself.. easy enough to do ??.
