  6. Yes they certainly work, and i can understand your views of a dark net. It stood out like a sore thumb just like the turquoise ones but it just goes to show a rabbit running for home has only one thing on his mind (safety). whilst in the company of a southern longnetter one night we run out a net right against a road with bad light pollution ..now this net stood out (as bad as the afore mentioned) being lit up by street lights. we pushed the rabbits off the field into the net and didnt do too bad (they had to cross the road into the hospital grounds). when we'd killed the net we watched a stra
  7. Well thanks for your replys and ill ad my own now...a couple of years ago i bought a lot of sheet netting from a certain netting company, i bought it in 4z (the proffesionals choice ) and 4" full mesh. when it arrived i was a little dissapointed with the colour (green/turquoise) and after a few conversations with a couple of very good nets men i put end pins and running lines on and set out to give them a go. well...they stood out like a ghost from scooby doo !, did they catch..yes they most certainly did but i had to run a dye through them to satisfy my own ego. i have recently bought more f
  8. Ok im bored...so heres a question to all you longnetters, Over the last few years ive made a few longnets in the usual colour (green) and ive bought sheet netting of various colours, Does anyone think the colour of your longnet affects your chances of catching ?, do you have a preference and why.
  9. Sell them to someone.....(old wives tale).
  10. Theres quite a few out there but the ones i use above all else are the "aile goby" (yo-zuri,30mm,2g)which come in a good range of colours. they are pretty hard to find but i do know a chap on ebay sells them.i make my own trace from "surflon micro supreme" (20lb).the goby has a very tight action which all british predators love...
  11. Well done that man, lovely looking fish. i use the ultralite with great success,i must admit i only use ultralite lures(trout love em).have you tried them ?.
  12. They are a pain to get out, last season i was working a nice little 50yrd drop with stan (lad who nets with me) and when we arrived back at the net he bent down and as he reached out to pick up the rabbit he jumped up and screamed "bloody hedgehog" , it was pitch black and anyone could have made the mistake. we found which way he enterd the net and we grabbed the mesh either side of it and pulled as hard as we could and old spikey rolled right out and lived to mess up my net another night
