    Think I’ll have to do the same, I have a old dog cage hanging around. Walked up to allotment this morning ( 5 mins away) and counted 13 of the buggers.

    I seem to have found the right combo Fred.. 8.7mm steel and 1842 tubes. I can shoot 9.5mm steel with the tubes but they are not as fast or accurate imo. I’m hitting most i shoot at with ttf so won’t change for a while… 4 jays in the last week + a couple of squirrels ain’t bad.

    For the life of me I can’t understand why you would want to walk 3 of them at once, 300lb of muscle to get off anything would take some doing.

    Another for gzk . .9 cut at 16/12 with 8.7steel . They last a long time . I’ve also started using 1842 double tubes with 8.7mm steel (ttf) to good effect.

    Think it’s gone beyond the welfare of the moors with packham… it’s more about his status level now.

    13 months old 27” tts. He should be ok .

    It has to be daytime woodland hunting for me, you never know what’s tucked up in a wood till the dog pushes it out ?, saying that.. I can’t wait to start this pup on the lamp and get a few catches under his belt.

    we walk a disused railway track up to the woods and the pup hunts up and down the banking, he puts some miles in just doing that, he caught his first woodpigeon other morning which did surprise me. The lines always provide good shooting for the catty ? .

    At this moment in time it’s a 1 1/2 hr mooch abart at 5am every morning then chilling out rest of day.

    Heard a few says that about laser eye surgery… not good. Your right with the thermal.. total game changer. This winter’s going to be fun.
