I have finally got my 1st permission but for airgun only and doubt I would be allowed there with my rimfire since it's only a couple of acres with lots of roaming livestock which is surrounded on all 4 sides by roads and houses. But what sort of land is ideal for rimfire .22 if I was lucky enough to be offered another permission since don't want to waste time trying to get Police clearance if its gong to be a no chance answer. I guess you need good backstops and Police clearance and owner permission but there must be more to it?

Glad I found this thread since was going to ask the same since just bought a Ultra Multi-shot in .177 2nd hand and need to fill it up. I wonder why BSA say it should be 232bar when most of the posts I read say 190bar is the most consistent? I presume filling to 190bar should give me at least 30 shots using JSB Exacts?

Just moved to the dark side after years with a springer and bought a BSA Ultra PCP so now need charging kit. Would prefer a 300 bar bottle but a hand pump at sensible price would also work. Hampshire area if possible for easy pick up

I'm mulling over changing career after 19 years in the NHS nursing and considering moving into veterinary nursing but wandered if my hobby of shooting would count against me since you don't often hear of vets or vet nurse going shooting?

Bit of a thread revival but cabinet is fitted Winchester 1200 shotgun in it and main keys in a separate key safe in another room but I'm going away next week so I presume as long as all shotgun ammo and guns are locked in the safe and I take both sets of keys away with me that should be Ok?

I'm in a similar boat I want a medium sizes 4x4 diesel for around £2k that I can part run of veg oil to make cheaper. At present I have a Subaru Impreza which is killing me in running cost with 18mpg supper unleaded and other maintenance so time for something with more ground clearance and cheaper to run. I did originally pin it down to a Teranno 2.7Tdi swb but the more I hear about rust the more I'm re-thinking. I did have a look at a Rav 4 lwb which I liked but being petrol wont be as cheap to run. Can you get a medium size diesel 5 door 4x4 since most swb have no boot space and lwb are

I'm am a bit concerned about rust but I find most other SWB 4x4 are too small for gun case and people and the LWB are too big. Did look at a lwb Rav 4 today and that was only about the size of my impreza wagon in length but only petrol.

I used to have a Toyota MR2 Mk1 but sold that and now I drive a Subaru Impreza Turbo wagon with a few tweeks so putting out 220BHP and it's killing me fuel wise 18mpg. Also not the best with ground clearance getting up some farm tracks for shooting. So time to put in in PX for a 4x4 I think.

Sorry for the tread hijack Jay I'm also looking at a Terrano/Maverick 2.7TDi since stupidly bought a Impreza last year thinking it would be cheaper to run than a 4x4 and at 18Mpg or less its killing me in petrol and other maintenance. I want something reliable with ground clearance but economical to run as a everyday car but big enough for gun cases. Is the 28/30 Mpg a true reading since thought it would be less since heard Pajero owners only getting 18/20mpg from there similar sized 2.8 engines? Also been told the swb one rust more than lwb for some reason. Is that true since pre

I'm after a cheap Multi shot PCP in .177 for hunting since my TX200HC gets heavy after a while. Preferably a Hatsan AT44-10 since they seem to have a good reputation and in budget but can only pay up to £300 since need to buy a couple of rim fires as well soon once my FAC comes though.

I was wandering what are the rules on gun storage if you don’t have access to a gun cabinet if for example camping for the weekend? Is it the same rules for both shotgun and FAC?

So basically if i want to do a bit of hunting on bits of friends land it probably better to get myself a section 2 and keep the sect 1 shotgun for practical shotgun only.

So if its say 9 shot FAC shotgun all FAC rifle rules apply but if i was to put it back to only 2+1 for hunting i presume since its already registerd as a FAC it wouldnt make any difference?

I’m a bit confused since I understand if you use a FAC weapon for hunting the land needs to be checked by the Police for suitability but if you use a Sect 2/SGC Shotgun all you need if land owner permission and common sense so what happens if you have a Sect 1 Shotgun would the FAC rules apply meaning you would then have to get Police check done on the land you previous shot with a sect 2 shotgun since the gun is now in the FAC category??

I'm after a set of Winchokes or similar for my Winchester 1200 I just purchased since it only came with I choke. Also any idea where I can get a shorter barrel from since it has the 28 inch fitted at present and need it shorter the better for Practical shotgun.
