We have only been here 5 years so not in the time of the Stove company. We are on the High Street.

Phil, we are in Binbrook and mostly internet sales as what we make is usually direct to order, however we do hold some stock on the shelves and the doors are always open as we also spend a lot of time on gun work for domestic and trade customers.

Sorry I missed this one and Sako is quite right, after the first pass there will be no marking from the guide, I have been using one with my Accuracy International for 5 years now and it is still working perfectly and has not deteriorated in any way other than the usual wear and tear from being left in my range bag. The marks from the first pass will be a tiny residue from when I machine the guides. I pass a nylon brush through them and then tissue however there may be a slight discolouration on the patch from that very first use. If people order satin finish guides this does not happen becaus

I enjoy work and tend to put the hours in when things need doing plus this is a new business and a real challenge that I enjoy immensely, right now I am meeting some very good people and developing lots of ideas and loving every minute of it. My wife has an aversion to rain when it comes to taking her rifles out, a cloud in the same time zone will see her removing her jacket to cover the rifle. Me, well I just hunker down and keep shooting however I do tend to shoot plastic stocked things which work well in extremes and with obscure makes of 7,62x51.

Sako, it is built bar the cleaning port, I will cut that in bright and early and get it mailed out then it is back to the work at hand, I have some F/Tr bipods to get built plus OAL gauges and comparators plus a couple of unusual projects that need kicking off over the next day or two, plus all the usual stuff. I have a horrible feeling the SHED is going to be cited in more than one divorce case before the decade is over... Luckily my wife is equally passionate about the things we make, she is not quite as impressed with the number of bits her rifle is in right now...

I was wrong, the short series is GBP27.95 and the long series with port is GBP30.95, both are fitted with O rings, come with spares and include delivery. The long one looks very similar to this but with a slightly narrower front section.

Fairly local then although I don't recognise the 'bike from my travels. Ovenpaa is 'upstairs' or on-top in Danish and I started using it when I was learning Danish many years ago (I am married to a Dane) It is a name that just seemed to stick.

The Sako 75 is a great rifle but awkward to build guides for... I always try to build my guides in such a way that they are locked into the action, usually with the bolt release catch however the Sako uses a very small area, from memory it means fitting a 2,5mm stud that is hard to position even with the rifle in front of me, because of that I build my Sako guides with a Nitrile O ring on the Nose section which gives a snug fit and prevents bleed back of cleaning fluid from the barrel into the action, I also oversize the bore of the guide by .025" so there is less resistance on it. I cannot guarantee it will always be like this! I have spent 8 hours on a Mill today making heads and legs for F/TR bipods which is always a noisy exercise plus quite tiring after a while so I was glad to be able to retire to a lathe which gives me a chance to relax slightly, grab a coffee and have a think about things. Top of the pile of drawings were the notes for the guides from your phone call and as I was cutting the correct material for some R93 guides I added yours. It seemed rude not to I still have a bit more to do before today is over.....

Here are the two guide blanks, I have turned them to diameter and final length and they are ready to be marked for the cut for the bolt release catch, this will enable them to be locked in place during use, then it is just a matter of a tidy up and polish and they are ready for use. 6082 T6 Aluminium.

A question for any owners of the Sako 75 chambered in .223 - Can someone tell me what the core diamater of the bolt is please. I have the dimesnions for the .308 bot face but not the .223 and do not have one to hand to measure. Many thanks

I only heard about this forum today and popped over to have a look, spotted a brilliant article on 'Quick Sloe Gin' and joined on the spot. I am a 50 something shooter, married to another shooter, live in the Bedfordshire countryside and shoot anything long distance over here and Jagtfeltskydning (Hunter Field Shooting) in Denmark. Interests are shooting, more shooting and reloading plus anything shooting related. I don't hunt these days although we do head out to DK every year to shoot and watch the Reds Rut in the forests around Ulfborg, we just don't do both things at the same time.
