Well here's a sneak preview of some of the auction books, thanks to the donators, Dave Harcombe and Jon Darcy
Keen book collectors will have noticed "Extreme Lurcherwork" - a VERY rare book indeed.
See you all tomorrow.
Auction shaping up nicely, books donated by Dave Harcombe, Jon Darcy, DVD from Andrew Edwards, a cracking fox mask, lovely walking stick, fox nets, rabbit nets, a painting and lots of other things all in a good cause.
A lot or "regular" vets are found wanting.I'm lucky than my vet is also the vet at the local track.... he knows running dogs and also does a lot for the greyhound trust.still, he's mad as a sausage!!!!!!
Matt
you cant put a price on a good understanding and sympathetic vet
its hard but worth it. There used to be more inbred lurcher strains about years ago. You would see some families like peas in a pod.Breeding properly isnt easy. Ive said it before but if you cant put pups/dogs down you shouldnt be breeding anyway, its not for you. If we had never practiced inbreeding we would never have got pure breeds.still plenty of line breeding among the racing/showing seen that still going on but wouldn't think there's many that get put to sleep
No they get sold
end of day what we see with naked eye is a small % of whats going on inside so to say we are linebreeding/nbreeding using stuff with no faults is impossible
faults will show themselves eventually
yes mate she is excatly same way bred but 31/2 years younger
by the way we still thank our lucky stars that you helped locate that dog, as he has been a real good un and still going well. owe you a pint.
