  5. a proper russell, you'd of liked him CS I have seen his dad and he's a great dog in every way,
  6. ok humour me.....whats the point of this breeding? i'd guess at working thick cover, speaking on chosen quarry, not ranging as much as pure beagle and with bit of extra fire. good dog of this type be ideal for knocking stuff out for the lurchers? don't you think??? . . . surely if it was a money making excercise the whole litter would be up, not just the one
  7. is the Russell by a dog called Rocky? Yup! like his old man isn't he - hope he matches him workwise.
  8. great pics, lovely to see - i hope it's a great day for all
  9. are they the same otters as we have in europe?
  10. they could turn out to be even better than beagle spaniels !! and in time no one would need a pack of proper hounds at all!! My mate will agree with me i'm sure
  11. sounds like an interesting cross, what do you have planned for them ? hunting up on the hill? mostly hunting on the hill/forestry and running with the hound pack we follow, have a 1/2 cross welsh/wheton/grey/bull here as well good strong dog but lacks a bit of pace but has plenty of stamina he is the uncle to the bitch pup we had yesterday good luck with them anyway,

  15. 29tts capable of taking most of whatever any other dog can. good feet, coat, very intelligent. but very slow to mature and sensitive. do you take that dog out with a pack of hounds? i bumped into some lads last season with a small pack and they had a v.similar lurcher with them too.
  16. dodgy lookin followers there mate.
  17. Hi Mate, To be honest you would be better off buying the wheel bearings yourself and if you know someone with a garage for them just to put them on for you and charge an hours labour, Dont go to a subaru main dealer they will charge the earth i would try a motor factor who stocks that sort of part, Failing that you can try E/Bay. Not an expensive job if you know the right people, Hope this helps mate. ATB Steve. thanks mate - i know a couple of ex-mechanics who have taken other jobs but still do as a hobble , thanks for advice.
  18. Been a bit of a noise coming from rear passenger wheel on Forrester for a few weeks, been meaning to get sorted. Anyway, front passenger now making noise - so need to get both fixed ASAP is it an expensive job??
  19. if you want to get the size up, why not use a strong type russell thats got generations of work behind it - rather than introduce non earthworking breed
  20. this thread = 10 minutes i'll never get back
  21. springer x mate, yea she does a fair bit she is no way a 100% earth dog but is more than happy bolting and she can find in huge places that other terriers never do, she will stay to foxes but has come out before after a few hours, she can be called of which is handy, all in all she is more of a all round terrier, the best ratting terrier i have owned and witnessed, and a bloody good bushing dog that will work to hand signals, i suppose alot of terrier men wouldnt entertain her, but i couldnt be without her, and wouldnt sell her for the world horses for courses i suppose, if you're
  22. nice morning for you. does the patt x spaniel do much earthwork? is it a cocker x?
