    i'd be more than happy if they hunted/flushed them to gun or lurcher (in NI & ROI) on a regular basis. some of the best hounds are total sh1tbags at the sharp end, but you wouldn't be without them might be a nice party trick to have a spaniel that gets stuck in but you wouldn't expect it of them.

    Kyboy it's the rougher types that would more likely get hurt, a good bull type would want to tangle with something. Get something that wants to hunt/flush rather than kill if your worried about dogs getting hurt.

    my understanding of a good GWP is that if it gets hold you wont need the gun, they wont be baying one up.

    know a fella runs this cross for daytime work on the moor, dog had a decent 1st season i think. probably similar qualities to bull grey collie grey

    its as much about the horse as the dogs, our two 100% comfortable with dogs around but my worry if they stood on dogs toes accidentally

    To date these are the items for auction Taxidermy (Kindly donated be Rob58) - Full fox, fox mask and hare mask Books - "A terriermans life vol 5" (donated by D Harcombe), "Scooby" (donated by J Darcy) "Of Dogs and Deer" (donated by club member),"Hunters of the Welsh Hills (kindly donated by L Harber), Pictures - Framed prints of hounds Sticks - two sticks made my member (excellent) Rabbit nets double Terrier box - made by Woods we're waiting on a few other things but i'd say its already a good selection, hope people are feeing generous !

    Correct they are able to catch and kill the grey squirrel but they will also kill every other small animal or game birds they come in contact with and wipe out a pen of fowl if they gain entry.A local man to me actually seen forestry reps releasing pine martin into a young forestry but yet at an nargc meeting when asked they denied this. when i was told this would help reds re establish, i asked how and they reckon the reds are lighter so can go further out on branches than a grey can to avoid the marten, it sounded a bit far fetched to me but who knows, never seen a red.
