  1. Yes Paulnix I think he will end up a 6 - he should make 6'2 or 6'3 and got a good frame so could carry 15 stone but even in local rugby thats not a big second row. and yes he is over the ball a lot and slows ball down and doesn't mind the nitty gritty side of it. 6 or 7 would be a good place to start but I wouldn't rule out playing in the centres if hes got abit of speed, the lads hell come up against in the backs it should be more of a level playing field Hes very one paced for a threequarter and gets drawn naturally to the ball so hes definitely a forward.

  3. hes a lock - 6ft but skinny in a wiry sort of way - he be giving couple stone away at least to opposite numbers but has made up for it with stamina and he plays stronger than his weight, but now going up to youth he'll be against 19 year olds -

  16. yeh the beddy puts fire in to them, even the beddyx whippets, ive read that before that good proven dogs, dont always produce the same in there offspring , strange that, suppose its like saying just because Mike Tyson as a son, it dont mean his son will be the same, he might not like boxing / getting hurt .lol thats why people line breed to give themselves a slightly better chance of getting a worker no one knew the breeding of the dog so it would have been difficult . Especially as the dog never produced as well shame that, i wasn't meaning that dog in particular but it does soun

  18. having seen some good fell hounds on open country and farmland i would be stunned if a terrier kept up for any length of time, then stunned you would be ................lot of the good fell packs used to do it fair do's to the little tykes that could keep up with a fast fell pack for an hour plus,
  19. sorry to hear that mate, but as you have said he had a long working life in a good home, the most important thing

  21. My worry would be if £300/working pup becomes the norm, you are making money - good money. That would encourage people to breed more purely for profit rather than for themselves and friends/associates. Quality would drop off and it would be to detriment of working dogs overall. I have no problem selling surplus pup, especially to long term, known members of a hunting forum but personally feel more comfortable with a lower price. JMO
