For Sale Lurcher Bull Saluki, Pups Ready Now
benchick replied to J.D.'s topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Can nobody see where hot meat is coming from, surely nobody in there right mind would sell WORKING lurcher pups on a for sale section of a WORKING dog forum this is madness obviously the first place we would all look for good quality well bred working dogs is preloved pets.com. Just so hot meat knows this is called sarcasm. What a muppet someone have him banned please -
I cant believe people in this day n age can say this is a bad deal were talkin about something that could potentially last you 15 years or so. And I bet those same people would spend hundreds of pounds on a pair of shoes or a jacket or hundreds on a good night out. In time everything does get more expensive wether you like it or not. My girlfriends nan used to breed jack russells over 50 years ago and she used to charge 5pounds a pup, in todays money that is probably around 200. Anyway thats just how I see things but then again some people do want everything for free, I just live in the real w

Ive had air rifles now for a few years and was looking into getting a shotgun but have a couple of questions and it would be great if anyone has any answers. For example could i bolt my gun cabinet to the wall in my girlfreinds flat (Not my house) and store my gun there. How to apply for my license, and is it easy to get or am i likely to be refused a license (i have a completly clean criminal record). Cheers Ben

Ive always really liked patterdales but I was just wondering if they were any good for things other than going 2 ground. Im thinking of getting a pup I have seen quite a few for sale on internet already seem pretty easy to get hold of a pup but would want 2 use it for ratting and working the hedges for the lurchers etc not for any digging. Sounds stupid I know, people will say just get something more suited for what you want but I would just like a bit more info from people who own and work the breed especially brian nuttall lines. Cheers

I see what you mean but it has always interested me with the massive variety of lurchers that can be made why are there so few we actually use and i suppose your right the most common must be the best, But saying that i would still love to see a fox terrier or irish terrier x whippet or grey seems like they could make good workers

Yh ive seen penny taylors airedale lurcher in the countrymans weekley looks ok but the one i keep thinking of is an irish fox terrier x whippet or grey, speed and lengh of a grey with a the dense coat and good drive of the terrier in theory it seems like it could work as well as any other, would still love to see some pictures of any uncommon crosses people have. What is an irish fox terrier??? Irish trrrier or fox terrier i mean

Hello everyone i just wondered if there are any good terrier mix lurchers that can be made apart from the obvious bedlington whippet. Its a serious question i always think about why dont we have for example : parson russell x whippets, lakeland greyhounds , patterdale whippets, border whippets ,fox terrier x salukis anything like that. Would anything be worth trying, would it even work. What do you think would work and not work and why and i would love to see photos of any uncommon crosses people have owned or worked.I look foward to seeing what people think and have to say. CHEERS

Thinking about it now DO NOT for any reason get a yorkshire terrier for WORK you would have more luck with a yorshire pudding !!!

If you are serious about working terriers again i would leave your love of yorkshire terriers out of it, There may well be a few working strains left even a couple of good ones but getting hold of a real good one would be alot of fuss, you are probably better off looking for working terrier breeds that have been less f****d about with by the kennel club. This breed is a classic case of KC ruination the yorkshire terrier is now more of a stupid little show dog carried about in designer bags with sparkly collars and bows in there hair and is about as good for work as David cameron is at being pr

Cheers everyone have had some great feedback and got a couple leads im going to follow up. could do with a few more breeders names if anyone knows of any and would like to know names of good working or coursing lines of saluki in britain past and present. Also any owners of pure salukis what they think of their work abilities aswell as strenghs and weaknesses in general. thanks again

I am looking to purchase a SALUKI as of around mid next year (2013). I know its a long way off but hopefully by giving myself that much time i will manage to find the perfect dog also because of family commitments. Anyway i am looking for a pure breed saluki pup NOT saluki x from good working or coursing lines also not interested in any older dogs as i believe nobody would ever sale a good dog in any circumstance (divorce, work, kids etc) if you have the dogs best interest at heart you just wouldnt there is always an alternative in my opinion. dont care about kc registration either as i dont t

First thing why does everyone go on about non working sire and dam, at the end of the day it is mainly what you put in training wise is what you get out as an end result. Of course it helps if they are from genuine working lines but every genuine working line has to begin somewhere. What happens then if someone buys a hancock bitch then trains her well, feeds her well, and works her properly and then breeds it with a top notch working stud does that not mean the pups are from genuine workers ?. What im trying to say is that no matter what mix of lurcher or longdog you have if you trace the lin

For Sale saluki whippet greyhound pups
benchick replied to whippetman's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
your joking...i'm banned from driven and my pup was a 4/5 hour round trip to get her No im not joking, and i havent got any transport at the moment either, i was asking a mate for a lift but seeing as county durham is 276 miles from bristol making it about a 9 hour round trip i think asking for a lift is a bit off a piss take if it was in my car i would drive anywhere in england for the right pup. Why are some people on this site so quick to comment. if the pup would have been a 5 hour round trip away it would be curled up at my feet now. -
