  1. You will need to drill a hole for the swivel on the underside of the butt on the stock, the other end of the sling clips on the under leaver mate.
  2. Lol thanks mate. I haven't seen many like it TBH. Its just luck of the draw I guess, and for once I got lucky.
  3. Thanks for the tips mate. I'm looking forward to doing some targets with it to see what the grouping like, then hunting a few bunnies when its bedded in. What ft lbs is yours running at? My HW97k used to stick in the spare fence panel I use to put the targets on in my garden running 11 ft lbs, this goes straight through it with the same pellets! I don't have a chrono but will need to get it checked after its had a few pellets through it.
  4. The AA Fields are a really nice fit as you'd expect. I'll let you know how I get on with the Falcons, they are supposed to be pretty good.
  5. Thanks, I can't stop looking at it Its definitely a keeper as you say mate, hopefully hand it down to my son when he's old enough. I have a tin of AA fields left from the HW97K, and I just ordered some Falcon Accuracy Plus to give a try. I'm not sure whet they are like though, I've never used them. They are pretty light at 13.4 grains, but you gain an extra 50 fps over the AA Fields so it flattens out the trajectory slightly. Any experience of them?
  6. I went and picked it up this morning and all I can say is DAAAAMN its sexy! To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I was impressed with the HW97K and the TX200 but this is in a different league. It shoots very well, hardly any recoil, very well balanced, and its the quietest springer I've ever shot. http://www.flickr.co...N02/7447791736/ http://www.flickr.co...N02/7447781330/ http://www.flickr.co...N02/7447787006/ http://www.flickr.co...N02/7447784100/ I will post some photos of some groupings when its worn in.
  7. You can't use a bipod with an HW97K because its a springer, although some people use the cheapo ones that clip on the barrel and say they work ok. Any sling will be fine, neoprene ones are nice an comfortable. You will need to buy swivels too and drill a hole in your stock
  8. Thanks Mawders, all paid for and will hopefully be here tomorrow . I'll post some pics up when I get it.
  9. Thanks for your help, the bloke at the gun shop said it should be here Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it just a little bit.
  10. Think I'm sticking with .22 mate, I like the whack on impact and think it might shoot nicer in that calibre.
  11. Thanks Si. I will probably really like it in either calibre TBH, which makes making the final decision even harder I will let you know what I order tomorrow.
  12. This is a difficult decision and I need help deciding! I don't fancy spending nearly £500 on a rifle that I won't be 100% happy with and I plan on keeping it for many years. So ban it, after this thread.
  13. There isnt much in it at all though if you look closely, less than I though anyway.
  14. .22 is less affected by wind than .177, as proven by Chairgun, but there isn't much in it over normal airgun ranges. We also found this out the other day when shooting my .22 97K and my brothers .177 TX200. Attached are two reticles from CG, a .22 in green and a .177 in red, both with optimized zeros and 10mph crosswinds. Edit: In fact its not worth mentioning, they are both roughly the same.
  15. A Pro Sport in walnut mate, just need to make a definite decision on the calibre. Have you shot a .177 Pro Sport Si? Is the recoil any worse than the .22?
  16. Thanks for the replies, I'm still not sure though. I have been using my .22 HW97K so I'm familiar with the .22 trajectory. I also have an RF. I would like to order it on Monday so need to make my mind up! I think I might just stick with what I know (not that I know a lot about it) and go with .22.
  17. Me and my bro tested this out on Thursday. I was using my .22 HW97K, he was using his .177 TX200. I shot both at the same target, at the same range, in the same conditions, .177 was affected a lot more by the wind than .22. Chairgun says the same 10mph crosswind; .177 http://www.flickr.com/photos/61104469@N02/7422362852/ .22 http://www.flickr.com/photos/61104469@N02/7422362768/
  18. Like I said, know your ranges or carry a range finder and the shot with the .22 will be just as accurate, if not just stalk a bit closer!
