is it just me or has the lurcher world gone mad????
P5HEN replied to poxon's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
if nobody shown what they were doing, out in the field, breeds, etc etc then there wouldnt be sites like this, were as im a novice i find places like this a valuable source of info and not showing the end product of what we do would be like making a pie and not eating it lol my question to you is pal if you dont give a f**k about what others are doing, what you doing here?? and im sure the ppl that put articles up on here also enjoy seeing there dogs work, -
youve gotta learn it yourself mate, so when youre out together find a lampost and stand on 1 leg raisng the other in the air and have a p**s, he'll soon learn........honest!!! watch you dont overbalance and p**s on yaself though!

if your worried about fly eggs get some other meat out and bin the meat with the "blow" on and like other ppl have said put it in a sealed container when defrosting
-
whatever it was coyote, fox, jackal, wolf. 1on1 pound for pound the dog did well!
-
never thought of him as that lol. thats what ill call him from now on, nobody can tell me hes not a toy lurcher can they cos apparently hes not a lurcher. might just do that with the ferrets cheers. i reckon hed kill the ferrets tho im sure youd be able to train him not too, and just be a bit more aware that your dog is a little more fragile than you think he is cheers
-
"toy" lurcher thats a 1st u should get some ferrets and have him as a ferreting dog as for the saluki bull beddy whippet cross i think youve read up about these dogs n thought if i had a bit of everything in a dog it will be the best, saluki=stamina bull=fire beddy = coat and whippet=agility, who knows might be a good breed to have, good luck with ya dog pal

Am I imagining this? Saluki pup...
P5HEN replied to Carraghs Gem's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
so thats what you call it when your pup wont stop jumping around 3/4 ft in the hair tryna jump up at me so is this common with lurcher pups or just saluki based? -
is that 1 of them "urban lurchers " ??
-
ive seen "GAIN" come up quite alot when its come to the discussion on what to feed your dogs and also "CSJ" im feeding harringtons to my pup and ive been told on here to give a pup about 26% and this only has 21% so im mixing it with a bit of mince/gravy (cooked) he seems to enjoy it and it was what was best at the supermarket i thought (quality/price) and better than what i was giving him (hopefully) plus handy to get hold of at all times ill see how he goes on it and keep the topic posted thanks for comments all info appreciated
-
yes paulus youre very correct but its due to that nature that it is ever increasing in numbers thus spreading into urban areas thus causing these problems although man originally spread onto theirs, and will keep on doing until theres nothing left for anything!!! but my point being if hunting was still legal wouldnt more people be doing it ? meaning more control, meaning lesser number?

on the news this morning, it states that now we are having problems with urban foxes, is this one of the many adverse effects of the ban? due to population explosion ? might need a new breed of dog, lads n lasses "the urban lurcher"
