  1. Has anyone got any experience or know anything about the .22br? whats the range like compared to a .223? what is the barrel life like as it is a fairly fast round? whats the best twist rate for the greatest range of heads without compromising the range? any other pros and cons. Reason for asking is that i am looking a good round for both range and fox use. Thanks Greg
  2. i done that with a crow although it was only about 50yrds with a .222 took off (my brother stared laughing and i was baffled) and just dropped out of the sky about 20yrds from where it was shot (laughter stopped)
  3. will a cz zkm 2e (22lr) fit into a cz silohouette stock (22lr)?
  4. Just put a scope on should help with acuracy at the longer distances
  5. Thanks ill keep practising i was using bisley superfield not sure what theyre like? I have accupell and field target trophy ill give them a go next time its out!
  6. hi i bought one of these new about 2 years ago and never really got a chance to use it (literally just sighted it in). it groups well i was fit to put 5 shot groups into 2" at 30 yards resting my elbow.i am going to start using it to shoot rabbits and rats although when i put it through the enough chronograph its only doing 9.6 ft/lbs is that to kill a rabbit? (i know it must be head shot) thanks
  7. my target rifle hates being clean took me 50 rounds to get it grouping well again after i cleaned it with bore solvents so i just pull the snake through it after a match
  8. Think ill go for .17hmr (cz 452 silloheutte) and call them in closer. Theres no big difference in ammo costs per shot, should get it on permit easier as its a rimmy and less meat damage on rabbits with hmr if i get round to cooking one! duncan thats quite a nice fox and shot to match! Hope this is helpful to others aswell Thanks everybody for your imput Greg
  9. Sorry i must have missread it then! Cheek position may move it abit although 3/4" maybe a stretch
  10. You can still get a tight group in a different position providing you dont move your body (minus your trigger arm when reloading)
  11. Cz is a very reliable accurate gun and at decent money! The hmr i seen was a cz 452 siloheutte and my dads .222 is also a 527! I hant heard of him i better go look hime up if hes that good!
  12. Left and right movement on both scopes could mean your moving your cheak each time!
  13. Silly question as the biggest factor in group size is the shooter before even getting into the equipmen! 1000 yrd .223 is insane!
  14. Its the barrel or scope under any strain in the cabinet?
  15. Ill maybe leave the 17 hornet and see if cz take it on and go for either a 223 or .204 after lots of reading reviews! ** edit** What does the 220 group like compared to the 223?
  16. Should be a tack driver! Our laws are different we can change calibre's at a charge (as far as i understand) not sure what the english laws are ill have a look at the 17rem and fireball now. Hadnt even thought about dies to be honest just popped into my head while i was on topic
  17. What twist rate are you getting? Two of my mates shoot .223 out to 600m with homeloads with either 1-8/1-9 twists
  18. Good luck with it! Think ill go with a larger calibre than hmr then. Anybody have or used to have a .17 hornet or .220 swift would they be suitable
  19. I had looked at 204 but I heard it was hard to find heads for 20 cal (im in northern ireland)? And that they are have a short barrel life due to "hot" loads?
  20. Ive been looking into upgrading my air rifle to either a 17hmr or a .223 (sounds like a big step but i have experince with rifles and regularly shoot my dads .222 when lamping) and was wondering if anybody has any experience with either calibre for general hunting/lamping (fox and smaller i have permission on a few farms) I would like abit of range 200+ yards is the 17hmr capable of this? Is there any big difference in ammo prices (i have reloading equipment just need .223 dies)
