.22-250 Reloeding For A Newbie
Greg223 replied to shropshire dan's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
If you could get the burnrate for that superformance powder you should be fit to match it with a similar powder then tune load to suit barrel -
Hello I have a bsa superten with shrouded barrel and I find that accuracy suffers when the shroud is on, groups go up about a third in size with the same pellets. Although there seems to be no clipping on the baffles etc. Any body experienced similar or have any ideas? Thanks

Ended up returning the rifle I changed the orings for the original spec ones even tried various other size to seal tighter in the cylinder but had no joy so returned it to the shop and swapped for a superten mk3 bullbarrel which I can't fault. The dealer said he was sending the logun to england to get it service and repaired so atleast it won't be gatherin dust in a gunroom

Got the tiny oring changed and changed the two on the cylinder endcap with ones in the kit although now its blowing out around the dust cover so changed the two on the end cap back and its still blowing out around the dust cover I noticed neither set of orings on the end cap fit the slot they seem to be too slim so I went and got ones that fitted the slot but they were far to tight to fit in the cylinder even when lightly greased. Any other ideas or should I try more sizes? Thanks again Greg

The gun otherwise is 100% shoots well and doesn't seem to have anyother leaks The bottle I am using is a 300bar bottle that was filled on friday

Didn't think on that american ones seem to run about the 19-20 from new. Also isthere any way to age these rifles date stamp or something?
-
Definately doing that I'm returning an original I got last week that was doing 6ft lbs rather than the stated 18 my fault for not cheking but the dealer is taking it back. He had an hw90 aswell but I chose the original due to weight but now I had change of heart and think id be better with a gas ram over a springer?
-
Have been doing bit of reading on this rifle and am tempted by it. I would be getting one 2nd hand doing 18ft lbs .22 (will be checking over chrony) I know its heavy but what are the other advantages and disadvantages with this gun or the gas ram system? Will the internals be alright having run at this energy? What do I look out for before buying the gun?
-
I'll get it over the chrono before it leaves the dealers
-
I know its old that doesn't bother me is there any problems I should watch out for when I get it?
-
Hello I bought one of these air rifles this morning for reasonable money shoots great pellet on pellet 30 yards meant to be 18 ft lbs but never checked that. Has anyone any experience with this rifle? Quite hard to find info online as far as I can see

.17Hmr - Is A Brass Cleaning Brush Okay?
Greg223 replied to Beefbeefbeef's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
i use a nylon brush followed by patches. saying that i don't clean it very often to start with -
has the scope got adjustable eye relief so you dont need to move your eye around for the sight picture? also if your closing your eye waiting for the recoil you may be flinch and not noticing or yanking the trigger. if your uncomfortable in the prone position pull your right leg towards the gun itll relieve any strain on your chest. also try ammo a stated to rule out a fault in the rifle. sorry if i repeated anything

Glasses Coatings For Use With Scope
Greg223 replied to halamrose's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
never used any coatings before i take my glasses off to shoot as i end up looking at the top of the frame does moving the eye relief help you at all? -
the farmer was wrong for shooting the dogs while on the leash but the dogs obviously weren't trained by there owner and if there anything like my dogs when they were younger they'd chase anything that ran until they were taught that they weren't mean to. is this the first time these dogs have ran off on the owner? although if it was a fox killed the lambs would we even hear if the farmer shot it? also can they test the dogs to see if theyd killed the lambs?? (say swab the tongue and test for sheep dna)

-
thanks for the replies i will keep researching they seem to get a good write up but my friend says they are bulky (not sure what model he was talking about) i considered the 56 objective but i think a 48 or 50 is a good middle of the road lens for night use
-
