  1. Nice one Elliot. I have a real soft spot for the hw77. I had one as my first rifle, but did'nt realise how good it was and started hankering after all the pcps that were coming out in the 90's. Mine got religated to the scrap heap in favour of a rapid 7. Worst move i ever made. Would love another now as a long term keeper. ATB
  2. My most recent long range shot was a large buck rabbit on a golf course. My shooting buddy had lased the range which came back as 69 yards. It was a beautiful summers eveing without a cloud in the sky and a very low 2-4 mph wind left to right. I had just done some range work and knew my aiming points on my hawke sidewinders mildots. The rabbit was with his back to me with the bulk of his body hidden by a slight hill in the ground, looking to his left. so when i got into the prone position on the bipod all i could see was his head. I calmly took a shoot, but just saw a glint of the pellet sale
  3. Damn fine shooting Elliot. Just received my order of 5 different pellets from perfect pellet. Should be in the warehouse on friday eve (upto 30/40/50/70 yards indoors!!)so should have some nice photos to share and compare!!
  4. Hi all Just wanted to put a mention out for www.perfect-pellet.com. I wanted to get a selection in to do some pellet testing in my new hw100t. Great website, good prices, great comunication and speedy delivery. Could'nt ask for more. Thanks Asa. ATB Deri.
  5. Hey Davyt63, I saw it a little while ago, and was mightily impressed. i contacted him to see if it was a kit that could be purchased and retro fitted, but he said that he would need the gun over in greece, and the woodwork would need extra inletting. Plus, i can't remember how much he said the work would be, but it was not cheap. Bloody impressive though!
  6. Went to the 9 hole golf course that my shooting buddy and I recently aquired, will post photos and write up in hunting section. Thanks all.
  7. Hi all, Thanks for all the posts on this subject. I am very pleased to report that i have had a breakthrough with the HW. I bought myself some AA fields (not sure what head diameter) and some RWS superfields in 4.51mm. Went down the range tuesday with new pellets in hand praying for a change. I drew out 7 small circles on a piece of cardboard with the plan to do 4 shot groups on each. I pumped the gun up to 200 bar, and started the groups from the first shot. I was blown away with the accuracy, after shooting two full mags (4 shot groups on 7 targets totals the two mags a 14 shots a p
  8. Thanks Pro buck. I know what yoy mean about trying to not worry about it as i think that its easy to become obsessed with the quest for accuracy and losing confidence in your kit if everything does'nt go perfectly. But i know the HW is cable of way more, as i was getting more accuaracy from my TX200hc. Hopefully practice and a pellet change will solve it. P.s i've got a hawke lrf400 and your write mate, they are indispensible. When i think of all those hunting trips in my youth when i was learning, how much easier it would have been with one of these!!! Cheers again.
  9. Hi Probuk. I have to add that the gun was bought new and has only fired around 200 pellets. The day i got it, i went straight to work where i have access to some large wharehouses. I set up targets at 30-40 an 50 yards. I would say it took around 10 shoots to get it on to zero, then i was just doing 5 shot groups. This is when i found that that around 2 out of every 5-7 shot group was a flyer, and when i say fligher, it was generaly going either low left or low right. i did some more plinking yesterday and found that it was off zero and shooting to the right. It took about 6 clicks on my h
  10. Hi all I recently took the plunge and purchased an HW100T .177 which i'm very happy with. I'm in the process of accuracy testing and deciding which pellet i want to bulk buy. At the moment i'm using Accupells which are shooting ok. The problem being that at 20-30-40 yards, the gun will easliy place 3-4 pallets throught the same hole, and then the next 3 will be flyers. Now i know that every barrel is different, and just because you've heard that your mate uses one type of pellet it might not be any good in your gun, but i'm a lillte unsure about the different sizes. The four pellet
  11. Hi, I'm pretty sure you can get ready cut blanks on ebay for around the 40 quid mark. Atb Deri
  12. going to have to get the tx200hc out and see what i can do. The task has been set!!! Good shooting Skot. Deri
  13. As all the others have said, good shooting, write up and photos. I should be out sunday morning decoying for crows an magpies, so should hopefully have photos and a report to post, fingers crossed!!! Good shooting all Deri
  14. Thanks secretagentmole. I'm thinking of getting one of those aluminium cylinders to get a larger shot count. My question is, with the currant cylinder, I charge to 200 bar then shoot till it drops to 90. If you were to have a spare cylinder already charged to 200 bar as a spare, if you removed the low cylinder at 90 bar, would this damage the seals or would it be ok? Thanks all and good shooting.
  15. Morning all Managed to get at for a hour or so on my nearest permission last night. Managed to bag a single woody. i know alot of people talk about the weight of the hw, but i found it quite reassuring in a strange way. Good shooting all. Deri.
  16. Hi Davyt63 It was'nt at a range as such. I'm a transport manager by trade, so i'm lucky enough to have access to 4 large warehouses that my boss lets me shoot in (out of hours obviously!!!). My previous posts shooting the tx200 were in the smaller warehouse of the 4 which is 32y at the widest point, but as i know i would want to stretch out the hw100, i went to one of he bigger ones. I do believe there is club in Lydney, which is pretty close, but i don't know if they have an indoor range. Good shooting Deri
  17. ah Milegajo!! Cheers buddy. Hey, if we can sort it out, your more than welcome to have a try. It's a bit strange using a springer for all these years, then learning to shoot a pcp. From all the respected people on this forum using them like Si Patterway and the like, i guessed the HW must be pretty good. I see from your forum posts that you seem to like your S200, do just want to go the multi shot route? Good shooting. Deri
  18. Hi all, Picked up my new toy today. It's the HW100T .177 topped with a Hawke sidewinder 3-12 x 50 and deben tilt bipod. Had a brief chance to do a little range work, and i'm really impressed so far. Only managed to get about 60 shots down range. Had it zero'd in around 10 shots (AA Fields), then printing 5p groups straight away at 40y. Opened the range up to 50y, and coming from a .22 was amazed at how little drop there was. My friend was shooting his s410k in .22 and at 50y, his groups were dropping around 8", where as the HW100 in .177 was dropping just over 2". (from a 30y zero). I real
  19. Nicley done buddy, Good photo as well. I'm picking up an hw100t in .177 in the next few weeks. The wait is killing me!!! Good shooting. Deri
  20. Hi all, I'm after an old HW77 (condition not too important). .177 or .22. Will pay up too £100 depending on condition. Please PM me if you have anything. Thanks very much and good shooting.
  21. nice shooting stealthy1 atb Deri
  22. Thanks for the kind words Bill. Maybe next time we have a still day i'll try the same thing at longer range and see what happens. Good shooting. Deri
  23. Got back on the zero range yesterday. I'm lucky that i can use one of the old barns at work to zero in. (out of hours obviously). Doing a bit of benchrest practice with my early TX200HC. I tought i'd try a few different grips to see how this affected accuracy at range. Rifle TX200HC .22 (early version) Scope Simmons WTC 6.5-20 x 50 Pellets Webly Accupell (straight from the tin) Conditions Indoors (shoots taken at a lased 31 yards) The bench setup 5 shot tight grip 10 shot loose grip I've loads more photo's, but to keep the post short an sweet, i found that
