  1. As we are all to aware the season is almost here, and in some places has already started. Due to the shoot I worked on closing down at the end of last year, I am looking for a new shoot to work. I have been beating and picking up for the last 3 years and have an English Springer and a Cocker Spaniel who both work well. Ideally I would like to find a small friendly shoot in the East Sussex area who shoot at the weekends. If anybody can help I would be very grateful for a PM.
  2. Popped out to one of my bits of ground tonight. First thing to remember when going lamping is to take your lamp epic fail. Had a quick whizz round with a big lamp I had in the footwell of the car, bit over kill however not a thing. Not seen a lot for a long time, I will have to try some where else for a bit.
  3. That's why they call it hunting not finding
  4. The ownership of the land is one of his major problems. The land is owned by the council but is let to the cricket club. Having read the minuets from the meaning that he was removed from, the council have no problems with the pest control that is taking place on that land. And when asked if, as a member of the council, if the complaints that he was making was on the behave of a member of his constitute, or was it a personnel vendetta. He then responded that it was a personal issue. Also in that meeting they were asked if they has ever received any other complaints about shooting on this
  5. Right a further update I have just got off the phone with the FAO. This is the situation, as there is no evidence of him actually shooting on his land and as he was just talking about shooting with a .22 there is not a lot that they can do, as the .22 could just be a air rifle and therefor he would be doing nothing worse than me. However I have found that he dose not have a fac and has not had one in the last 20 years, also his land has not been cleared nor will it ever be cleared for rim or any other fire arms. The long and short of it is that they are not prepared to bust his
  6. I will if I run into him again but as this was the first time in over 2 years that I have actually seen him I am not holding out much chance of "bumping" in to him. As far as going out of my way to find him, I just think that would just inflame the situation. I am just gong to let the plod do their job and try not to interfere.
  7. Right a quick update This morning I had a chat with the FAO, who was concerned that I felt threatened and is going to look into this chaps Licence and see what conditions are on it. I have also spoken to the cricket club and let them know what is going on and they seem to be fine with this. They are also happy for me to continue as I am. To be honest I am not to shore how big a can I have opened but open it is and we will just have to see where it takes us.
  8. Pernod it has taken many years to develop the levels of tolerance to these sorts of people. I have to admit had it been a few years back I would have grabbed the camera and slung it as far as I could and told him to " go forth and multiply". However I have found that if you take the time to talk severely to them they are often quite happy to drop themselves in it, and make themselves look the uneducated fools that they are. I think that I will give the old bill a call in the morning, just to be on the safe side, oh and as an added bonus might just piss him off too.
  9. As some of you know I have a small permition at a local village cricket club. On Friday evening I popped down there to re zero and to see if there was anything hopping about, it has been very quiet down there for a long wile. I was just calling it a night when I spotted someone cutting through the field up to the gate. Now I have been told that we have had a problem with the owner of the land next door, he runs a hourse sanctuary and use to be in the council. However, he was thrown off that. Well as I got back to the car I see him taking photos of me, my rifle and my car. Now bei
  10. First time I looked at the pics I thought that the dog had taken them as there was only one dog in them.
  11. Lovely photos what camera are you using? Also a top wright up, I like the way you are using natural hides and not leaving stuff all over the woods.
  12. I know that we all have two stage triggers on our air rifels but dose anybody know of a set trigger on an air rifle?
