  1. Saw one at chatsworth fair in the 80s. Looked a very hard dog.
  2. Could the test tell you weather 2 dogs were litter brother/ sister?
  3. You don't have much luck do you. What happened to the deaf lurcher pup in the end?
  4. When my old digging mate worked at the slaughterhouse I used to fill a transit van with boxes of Sheeps and pigs hearts and beast kidneys. My terriers and Lurchers were fed on em for years along with other bits boiled up on a old burco boiler. All the old boys used to come tapping a box of em to eat themselves.
  5. The ones on the dearne near me are from when the mink farm used to be at cadeby. Still get a few on there now
  6. I have a few sporting Lucas terriers they're not bad ratting dogs. A lot more laid back than the plummers. Work well together without fighting
  7. I have 6 sporting Lucas terriers a kelpie x running dog and a bull terrier. They are all worked in some way every day even if it's just bushing round the village football field. The shifts I work means I get 2 weeks off every 5 weeks so plenty of time to get out and about
  8. Each to their own. If a man gets enjoyment from bushing beating etc then so be it as long as no lies are told. Like tam says people's needs change and so do the terriers they keep. Some big name men have made a damn good living breeding from dogs that have never seen the outside of a kennel never mind a fox. We have all bought em I know I have. The men are still doing it today and I'm sure some of you have bought dogs from these names on the back of lies or some dog generations back that was a good un. If a man chooses to hunt a certain way he is hurting no one as long as the truth be told. Be
  9. Why do all these Plummer threads go the same way. If we all liked the same thing the world would be a very dull place.
  10. She is still here. She hunts like a hound and will find foxes in any cover, bale stacks and will hunt tirelessly all day long.
  11. Mother on 2 pics above. Sire was a 23" whippet
  12. Some more from same litter as lady hunters. They have been up before so I don't think the owners will mind.
  13. This bitch will run through a brick wall to get at any game but once home she is as soft as a brush
  14. Was in roofing and demolition for 18 years worked my way up and ended up running a company with about 30 men working under me. Making sure there was work and wages for them all was a nightmare while the owner was living it up golfing in Spain. You couldn't switch off and took all the stress home. I was divorced twice and one morning I just said f**k this and left. I ended up getting a start through a friend at the glass works sweeping floors and shovelling but when I clocked out that was it no taking work home. 9 years on I have worked my way up and now work shifts , 14 days off every month a
  15. Lurcher x lurcher but no saluki blood. Kept me in meat when my kids were small 20 year ago.
  16. Highgate dog track. Greyhound shop inside about £13 I think
  17. Now that to me is what a Plummer should look like. Not like the docked tailed whippets that you see about. It's not unlike the pictures of the dogs I have seen that Plummer had when he lived round here( Rotherham)
  18. Why did Plummer use a bull terrier as an outcross when there are plenty of smooth bully type terriers that would not have resulted in as much wastage and time to breed the size out?
  19. Mine yaps. He wasnt over stretched as a pup, is always fit and wasn't entered too early. He had kelpie in his make up and is very vocal. When I let him out in a morning he literally howls and talks to me like a wolf. He works with a pack of terriers that sound on scent and I rarely lamp. Like skycat said he is a good cover and ferreting dog do I have to play to his strengths and live with it. His few yaps hardly scares game off when half a dozen terriers are screaming on the cover
  20. Same here never had a booster in 30 years. And at 42 quid for a jab that will cost him about 3 quid hes lifting your leg!!!!
  21. Don't think his Sam was Middleton bred if I remember right. His sire was Rex which was Gary's. There was no sister but a brother that was also white( gravel). I spent a lot of time with ken around the time he was getting into the parson club and he registered flint and maybe a dozen of his sons and daughters ( joker, rip, hassle. Barron). The club knew full well they were out of coloured dogs
