  6. Oh dash it all!! Thats quality stuff lad had me laughing
  7. I bred a litter of these micro ferrets but it was not intentional. Only three survived two jills and a hob and it was touch and go to get them through the summer. Long story short, I suspect I paired my jill a good regular size with a nice white hob from a similar line, i suspect what happened was they were full brother sister from different years or perhaps hlaf brother sister. I have a a hob now from the litter and his a a great worker hes small for a hob but not a micro i bred from him and he produced 8 healthy kits to a jill i bred from a different line. I gave the other 2 jills to my froe

  11. I am not agreeing with Wet Nose Man but i do think that constructuve criticism or advice is this, it would be better in my opinion to keep all the posts about one show in the one thread, I realise that sometimes it seems better to start a new one of the original had negative bits but at the end of the day is it not a writers job to tell the truth the facts about the subject whilst many of you threads margaret give credit where credit is due often it is an overly generous and almost misleading account. The florencecourt show is poor and has been for some time the organisers lack people skills a
  12. would it not be better to post in the thread already started rather than starting a new thread, there are two or three threads for every show its really annoying not that the write ups are not good
  13. Do both people have to be SACS members or can a SACS member bring a guest in for half price, I am a SACS member
  14. do you still have this, would you sell it and where are you in ireland?? pm if you prefer
  15. I have one here, and I am happy, I just use her for rabbits Lamped and ferreted, she is smart, quick she is about 5/8 greyhound 1/8 bull 2/8 collie, she was easy to train all except retrieving she is not consistent not sure why, I probably wont have another lurcher again without collie in it although I do have deerhound half pup owed to me by a friend. I dont think collie crosses are right for the blood and guts brigade but for the average lurcher work they are bang on. Every cross has its strenghts and weaknesses.
  16. I feel bad for you fella, your in a bad place and a bad time for starting a lurcher, the whole country is hot as f**k with all the media attention ,myself and my nates have been getting funny looks and even one of my mayes got some woman trying to follow him home with his lurchers. If I was you I woukd forget about work for your pup until september, concentrate on exercise and training jumping, retrieiving stock breaking and socialisation, get along to as many shows as you can and I am sure you will find someone to take you out to be honest its not neces\arry I start all my lurcher pups at rab
  17. whats that black thing in the back ground is a big cat or something?
  18. thanks and to clarify i mean live minnow as opposed to devon minnow, in that its a real dead bait, miniature it may be. Going to get at this soon recently a 7lb brown trout was caught on a local river I would love to catch one that size.
  19. neil would you be prepared to share a design for the minnow trap? Fished the live minnow years aog, one thing I remeber is that the takes were violent, nothing like the take on fly worm or even spinner.
  20. aye and the show at saintfield too, fella got rumbled there, few lads from north down were gonna do him in.
  21. thats sharp there man, thing is but i reckon these three fuckers will be well represented at shows all over the country this year.
  22. thirteen thats great, I had eleven one year, my jill is due next friday, hope she has a good litter as, alot of people are interested, i bred her myself and lined her with a hob a bred too, they are both my kind of ferret.
  23. the diffference between killing cubs in august or pregnant vixens in March is that you kill them. If you kill a vixen in april to july then the cubs will starve to death slowly, thats the only wrong time to kill a vixen in my opinion. vermin need to be controlled. I perosnally hunt with a more sporting attitude and dont hunt a fox til mid september and usually quit in february, but if a farmer asked me to do a job then I would.
