    worked the opposite for me, got a new farm whilst tappin doors, farmer reckoned the place was crawling with gear and nobody had been there with terriers that he could remember for decades.Real secluded place with no phone and like a dick i never wrote the name of the farm down and never found the place again..

    cheers for that i thought it was all shotguns know what to do with my next .410 now..

    pretty much what i did but i took the barrell to 24" and removed the trigger guard then trimmed the depth of the stock so folded its 24" x3 1/2" very handy tool dont think you can take anything off the length of the stock as theres a minimum overall length for shotguns.ps the firearms officer has seen the gun and was happy enough..

    "I'm behind you"on mine.Though went to a funeral where a huntsman blew gone to earth as they lowered the coffin and his headstone has 2 terriers tied to a shovel on it was a fitting sendoff and probably the most emotional funeral i've been to as the lad was only 33.

    anyone read any jim kjelgaard books? lion hound,stormy,outlaw red etc loved them when younger and still go back to them now and then..

    a lot of the old cages and animal houses are still standing in the woods though overgrown and derelict now.contributed quite a bit of gear towards the building of my kennels..

    Brilliant,On the same lines i work as a roofer on public housing and come across all sorts when we rip off the old roofs.Only yesterday came across a framed certificate which read Awarded to XYZ disabled during the great war,honorably discharged on 2nd february 1918 Cant begin to imagine the story behind it..

    Got a copy of Border Tales 1967 up for grabs as its a good cause covers are a bit tatty but inside is vgc.I'll pay postage but dont be tight as seen these for sale at £100 +..

    I thought the same but he's a stubborn sod not given to leaving his quarry His kennel door has been open hoping he'd turn up.Maybe he was trapped behind the fox and ate his way out,who knows.I'm just glad he's back..edited to say my reply is to mick c not big g bit slow typing sorry

    Lost my 3 terriers from the garden saturday due to storm damage.Got one back within the hour and another next day,no sign of the third dog despite searching all over.Unbelievably he just walked out of an earth not 100 yards from the house that i've checked every day.Dog is marked up but in good nick so can only guess that he killed his fox an has been feeding on it,Whatever happened i'm just landed to get him back :-) :-)

    Typical example of whats wrong with some rescues,neighbours of mine took on a mongrel bully type from a rescue and within days it bit their young son.So instead of getting the f#in thing pts took it back and unbelievably a couple of weeks later it was on the Paul O'Grady show looking for another feckin home so imo its better to kill them sooner rather than later before tragedies like this happen..

    Dug to a live lamb one time a good way into the earth lifted it and it ran off across the field. Mad part was the dog was not trustworthy with stock above ground but bayed steady and showed no interest when it was lifted..

    Dogs 1&2 are the parents of dog 3 the black dog wasnt mine but the 2 reds worked up to their teens.im currently working 2 sons of dog 3 one is 9 and the other 6 only the 3rd generation in over 20 years..
