  1. there was also a sister of troy and turbo by the name of nan a top class bitch who proved herself in the field many times i never personally seen her dug but the lads i know that seen her dug all rated her highly also seen troy and turbo in the flesh nice big strong dogs who grafted what everway they were bred it seemed to work out ok !
  2. the thing with terriers is you ve to keep bringing on the younger dogs as you never know the day you could loose a worker as the job has many hazards but still keep a number that means there getting steady work a fella with 4 terriers worked hard will have a better standaed of worker than say a fella with 15 terriers who only puts a small number of digs over each dog at the end of the day its actual work that makes a dog they learn feck all in a kennell !
  3. used to tag along with older lads from village as youngesters me and the brother to be honest there was nothing else to do then during summer we d fish the local lakes then we started to be taken shooting with our father then got our own guns when we were old enough lucky for us dad encouraged us to hunt so any dogs we landed back with got a kennell it was like animal farm up our back the only rule was if any of the half doors we owned harmed one of the spaniels there would be trouble but it worked out alright ha ha and the rest is history
  4. lol down south the old grab them quick always brings a smile to my face we pick our dog thats to be worked at the pick up its then given a free run as we make our way towards the earths along with an old lurcher bitch that mate has she is a handy type does whats shes told and always there for a bolt but never trys to push into the dig etc now the number of times we ve got a dig from a unknown earth they have found on route to the earths we know may account for anything between 5 to 10 digs a year plus with the younger dogs it seems to help steady them up as they ve had a bit of time to run a
  5. the eyes my not be connected as sand is very severe on an earth dogs eyes especially in older dogs with a lot of work over them even with cleaning etc straight after a dig the eyes are usually the first thing to start going south in an older working dog and can lead to retirement even tho the dog is in other wise perfect health !
  6. muck boot comfy but you ll still end up with wet feet from sweating if your doing any amount of walking as someone says above spend the most you can afford as the more expensive boots the better the quality meindl dovre are a cracking boot mine going into forth season so works out about 55 quid a year so not expensive in the long run some cant see the wood for the trees !
  7. as fat man says a bit of courtesy will difuse most situations along with an appology.at end of the day land is very valuable and the farmers depend on it for there lively hood and if they dont want hunting then thats end of matter no harm done but to to give cheek or to threaten anyone on there own property is a disgrace and give s the decent hunting lads a very bad image as fat man says manners are nt that hard to carry !
  8. he ll be looking to thrash your long tail through the cover in his ass bearinator

  11. get agrip you dummy have you ever seen a hard hunting spaniel and im not surprised as i dont believe you and never will the staff was never bred to hunt cover they may do it but never to the standard of a dog bred for the purpose like a spaniel thats like me saying i ve a springer spaniel thats a bastid for fighting he d give a pit bull a run for it        johnny go to bed !
  12. yea at a feeding bowl just shows how little knowledge you have of working spaniels with after all the other nonsence you ve come out with you post the above line of crap ffs a good hard hunting spaniel would make most dogs dizzy never mind a kc registered staffy or does a man that dislikes the practise of tail docking keep a line of staffs bred down from the old game dogs of yester year i fcuking doubt it
  13. Well for your information, I was with Brian Plummer today and he said he agrees with Alimac.......so I don't know where you got that from!
  14. yea i ve had a pair a few years now also have the meindl dovre the sole s on the army ones are excellent and mine still are water proof etc but they hav nt done the work my meindls have done as i use them as a spare pair for when the meindl are wet from stepping in places thet are deeper than the boots but excellent value for money and id buy another pair no problem

  16. :D the hound section works for me everytime.. do you like the old style hairy welsh hound or the smooth well kept hair of the english and harrier seems the younger generation are nt fussed on to much hair ha ha

  18. the pages bound to be well glued together by now stig if you ve had them
  19. could be worse bolster you could be at home with vixen doing dishes while she argues on the world wide web
  20. tell me vixen if you breed your borders for work and they only end up in the homes of the people you really want them to go too what purpose does the kc registration bring to the table it aint going to help them work it aint going to help keep tabs on the way there bred as you know that as your the one doing the breeding plus you could always note it down. so what is so good about kc registration that you feel the need to defend it and associate it with the dogs you breed as you ve staed in previous posts that you breed dogs with the intention of being able to work?
  21. vixen tight and select from what i ve heard as long as the persons wallet is nt tight they can select any pup they want people in dogs for the working side only and im mean the genuine working dog man with work only in mind is not and never will be interested in kc so fcuk off to what ever hole you popped out off and give my head a bit of peace trying to defend the kennell club they never had and never will have the working interests of any of the breeds at heart its a money racket end of story so its matters nowt weather the odd kc registered dog does a bit off work or not kc has no place in
  22. kc is all about money end of it has done more harm than good infact it has done harm and no good load of absolute crap! breed standards they talk about and still an all there s prizes and champions give out to numerous breeds that after a trott round a square of astro turf are out of breath and have to be carried out of the ring so dont come on here vixen talking about kc if you have a breed that you like and want to breed and keep it going can it not be done without the kc of course it can but the numpty punter who lastest fad is a dog are brain washed into thinking dogs need kc so in turn t
  23. tight line\inbreeding has been the tool used by the kc for years to transform dogs that once had a purpose into golden eggs for vets take the good old english bulldog :laugh:the kc made a graet job of it heh vixen
