  1. i think working dogs should be housed\kennelled outside dogs like routine and this cant be stuck to when housed inside plus serious terriermen hunting men and even gundog men tend to keep a good kennell of dogs so its not pratical kennells only option as for me my misses would take some look at me to come home and find me at the stove with the young lad 6 black dogs and 5 spaniels laying up watching top gear on a sunday evening
  2. is the idea of the setters there ability to cover lots of ground by free ranging then when they come on game to slow right down then set allowing for the guns then to make there way to the dog on big open hills them and the english pointers save a lot of leg work but for beating rough shooting i think they d be wasted or maybe not ,as i ve never owned one i ve become very interested in the point setting breeds lately after working with spaniels from i started shooting many years ago plus i know two experienced pointer men and the best rough shooting dog one of them ever seen he said was an ir

  9. she s a credit to you mate looks healthy lean and atheltic but most of all alert which is down to the effort you ve put in well done again
  10. fair enough phil i was a bit matter of fact with my reply but having hunted with spaniels all my days you ll know that even with a young pup and doing all the basics and putting the time and effort in its still very hard work and would try the patience of a saint and trying to break the bad habits of a 3 and half year old spaniel is a mammoth task even for a very experienced trainer but it could be done and i wish the lad all the best
  11. 12. at 3 and half year old it could be tad to late
  13. a judge on the day can only pick a dog on what the handler tells him and how the dog looks and i found that most judges will pick a dog thats pleasing to them and what they would keep in there kennell . the only way a person can judge the working ability of a dog is to watch it working and not just for one day a dog earns the title worker over many seasons shows are a good way to pass the summer months meet up have a chat drink a few beers in the sunshine and not to be taken to serious but i ve noticed over the past few years that there s folk who actually cant wait for winter to be over so th
  14. thats a nice tidy pup and a credit to the man whos reared it no shortage of worm doses in that lad his coat is shinning
  15. the kennell blocks would be tidy sight for cost of a triple you making them out of 12mm marine ply as well
  16. ps i put shaking of wood shavings on the floor of eack box least it absorbs the water and its comfy for them
  17. I have been using them for years and they keep dogs very warm in winter and cool enough in summer. We use rubber matting on floor when taken from the box when wet and cold the box has soon warmed up with the heat of the dog. Also dogs don't sweat from their skin like we do just lose moisture from the mouth and pads of feet. We have found them to be very good bits of kit chew proof and easy to clean. they look like top bits of kit i dont doubt that but i still whuldent put a worked wet dog in one with no lineing especialy if it was on a quad,, the only reason i say itis cos ime after a double a
  18. have a spare 3 dog quad box used last season but not used this season only used one so other been sitting about doing nowt its made from aluminium checker plate so no rust life time job has the 3 individual lids over each section with a top lid that cover over them all asking 130 quid for it i give a fair bit more

  21. simple men with simple values can have two meanings in my post tuffty here today gone tomorrow terriermen will take it the wrong way and laugh at the picture of a stupid person who has nt a clue walking about in there own empty head and then some will see it the way it was meant 9 out of ten of them will be decent dog lads which one are you tuffty ?
  22. tuffty get a fcuking grip without these well known lads !were the fcuk do you think they got there dogs out of a fcuking kinder egg it was the simple man with simple values that made the terrier the dog it is today and the best terriers today are to be found in the yards of the lads who want working dogs for no one only themselves you ll not see these lads getting slagged on the net cause most people dont even know they keep dogs only the lads like themselves will know !
