  1. excatly what i was thinking bolster either a complete empty head or someone making a bad job of being a sneaky cnut either way nobody is taking him serious
  2. hickory them things you mentioned there would all be weighed up long before any dog was bred as they d be noticed while watching the dog/dogs working over several season s making sure they were worthy of breeding work wise first .also there s a lot of men on here alot older and wiser in the way of terriers than myself and yourself so maybe read and learn something if you can pick the nuggetts of gold out of all the shit thats posted on here plus you ll not see them come on here blowing smoke up there own ass about the shit hot dogs and cazy stud fees if they dont like a dog or bitch they d sim
  3. patterdaleboy i ve just read both your recent posts and once again you ve out done some of the posts that the numptys have already come out with on here lol if you asked both them question s to a donkey he d kick you!
  4. looking good rabbit hunter all the best with them
  5. The more bitches its used on the more chances it has of throwing workers-its a numbers game.If you look at greyhounds Brett lee (fastest dog in the world) x paua to burn (fastest bitch in the world) and the entire litter was crap. Its in gods hands as far as im concerned-you never know how theyll turn out until you do it (one way or another) whether they are outcrossed inbred or whatever.Ive seen entire litters of workers of average parents and useless dogs from brilliant parents pure nonsense if i ever heard it ! if you throw enough darts you ll eventually hit the bullseye springs to m
  6. they d have to be for work as in earth work for me
  7. What happens if you really wanted too use the dog though and it was well proven. You would not pay the money to potentially get a real good pup because of some silly issue with parting with money? Strange!! well if the owner of the good dog that was well proven thought anything of his good dog and the future of his blood then i doubt he d be looking money plus i always found the genuine dogs belonged to genuine lads so mr money grabber would never get a penny of me as id rather keep to the lads that think more of there charges than a quick buck!
  8. the thing is. the worst sort of dog folk.(to me anyway) are those that think they can get to the top of the ladder . but dont use all the rungs on the way up. folk with a bit of cash can be the worst. they really do think that money can buy success. well not in the dog world. clueless clowns with a bit of cash will ruin a dog as quick if not quicker. Thus, approved bitches. As I mentioned, I don't want his name or mine on shit anywhere. well hickory if you dont want his name or yours on shit anywhere then just say NO and forget about the 1000 dollars crap cause as cleanspade say
  9. greedy c**t greed has fcuk all to do with it if some man landed to my yard with a well proven bitch looking a service first thing that would enter my head would be the thought of a good pup to run on or the chance of breeding back in some of the resulting pups on down the line if they made the grade be of a lot more benifit in the long run rather than a few quid that would be gone as quick as it came
  10. if i enquired about the service of a dog and the owner was looking a stud fee im afraid that would end of conversation if he said two pups not a prob pick of litter not a prob but not a penny would i part
  11. no fee a pup in liew if there not know and you dont need a pup then it would be a no if it was someone you knew well then free service and they could keep as many pups as they liked but no pups sold any spare given to like minded lads
  12. thats it everyline as failures and if you mass produce there s going to be a lot of failures plus when your selling them hand over fist you ll soon get a few complaints !
  13. fair enough then moss i see you mentioned you kept some of his older dogs how did you find them working wise ?ps i agree that he done a lot for the black dog but as you said he undone all the good work by the antic s he been at now this good few years !
  14. now moss your having a wee dig a mr nuttall and in same breath admitting to selling a whole litter to lads who in turn sold them to brian why the fcuk would you breed a litter and part the whole lot th ey might not of been nuttall bred but they came of a peddlar none the less!
  15. not sure but....names mean nothing to me personally..just thought id ask on here dead right .................as long as the dam and sire do what you want thats all what counts in my book aswell fella....... thats a cracking looking dog you have there ...........hope he serves you well i just whelped a litter of 3/4 russells 1/4 patterdales and half the litter came out pure black and the other half like russells.................... wonder how long it will be before the black ones will be referred to as pure patterdales..........................lol as long as when time comes there refer
  16. same as that ali especially when starting young dogs as i lkie to know there up tight and personal before digging to them plus accidents do happen kit can fail collars can be forgotten to be switched on etc so we usually have a few digs a year where its ear to ground and t bar .
  17. just shows the state the poor old terrier is in owners getting upset about them going to ground cant get my head round it! lad is prob genuine enough and means no harm i know but still its still a sad situation as for this bushing carry on cant understand it either my fisrt dog was a spaniel age two i was still have pic of us both as pups so to speak now ive always owned a working spaniel and do fair bit of shooting i ive yet to see a dog hunt cover etc as good as a spaniel so why the hell dont people use them instead of terriers its a no brainer plus no probs with going to ground or working w
  18. money brings trouble in every form in dogs if it was kept out of terriers etc there be lot less hassell but some cant see further than end of there noses !
  19. another cracking pic moo we dont do big pile of duck shooting more pheasant so we keep only spaniels but the lab is different class when it comes to water uncle had a great one it actually would of prefared to swim than walk and it was quicker in the water than on land
  20. nice pic moo lovely looking lab. myself and two brothers and a mate headed out at first light to lake beside house we ve been feeding shot 6 mallard and a teal nice wee start and we ve an evening flight on another spot we booked end of last season we watched it last sunday night counted about 300 mallard hitting it so should bag a few more tonight all being well.
  21. asking for trouble there blue i do think
  22. even tho young they ll have a nose in there head and its usually the fresh scent that entices them in yes young dogs will travel empty earths out of pure curiousity at start but i ve found they usually learn quite quick once they ve met up for the first time with there quarry when the time is right .i ve seen dogs that were used with hounds that the only time they got into an earth was when hounds had run one to ground and so everytime there after they knew when they got out of box there was a fox there then on down the line when asked to check earths without hounds theyd run round the earth a
  23. young terriers starting out need to be keen and give there best they ll dig some they ll be out done by one or two but on them occasions it should be lack of experience that hold s them back and not lack of effort as long as there doing the best everytime there tried your on right track usually by end of season the young first seasons dogs are starting to find there feet and you can see them starting to really get the idea we had four young dogs last season all came out the other end we pushed them in last part of season giving them couple digs in the one day etc not mad big places but not pup
  24. very dangerous stuff indeed i know of a farmer last week lost a pen of cattle from gas that leaked from the slurry tank even tho it was an outside pen with plenty of ventilation the lads were mixing the tank and what ever way the wind was blowing it did the harm theres a few farmers around our way have lost there lives this way over the years no smell and hits you as quick as a flash
