  1. yes they have had do some castrations for some raccoon dogs they have found, they put gps collars for those animals and set them free. raccoon dogs used to move in pairs, so that gps animal go in to the wild and find new partner. if it stop moving, hunters cach it and kill possible partner and set that gps animal free again. that method its called 'judas animal' that hunter who is hired to hunt raccoon dogs up here have use that method, it works well, he dont have do that castration, put he use gps. catration is expensive and hard to do in wild, best castration is .22 hole in head swedish ha
  2. i have ever seen wolverine in wild, east lapland and noth lapland have some wolverines. its very carefull predator and dont let humans near it. i have seen tracks few times. if u ask our reindeer keepers, i bet they give all wolverines to UK if u want. wolverines kill lots of reindeers, so reindeer keepers kill wolverines, it is illeagal, but i think every one catch animal, if it eats your money our authority dont understand it, especially EU. and our government do every thing what EU wants, no matter how crazy things they want..
  3. hehe! its a great game for digger and earthdogs, but it is dissaster for birds and small game, thats why we try to kill em all, i think that raccoon are same kinda predator. we dont have it jet, but i.ve heard that denmark and south sweden have it allready, so twenty years and its up here in lapland. raccoon dog comes east, from russia and raccoon are coming from west cross sweden what we give, maybe lynx and wolves, theres to much of those and f*****g government dont let hunt em..
  4. i think its possible, one hunter who is hired to hunt raccoon dogs up here, have put some gps location collars on raccoon dogs, one travelled across finland over 400km in few weeks, germany have allready raccoon dogs so i bet u guys have new game in next 10m years
  5. yeah, they play dead, like Erik said, but it have to be a rough dog that raccoon dog start to play dead. I've seen few dogs, that cant stop raccoon dog in huge bargers set, it start run every time when dog start barking. Dog with experience dont let raccoon dog bite, my patt take some scars when it was young and stupid, few time with foxes and badgers and he dont bite raccoon dogs arse anymore now he waits and take hold straight on the face or neck so raccoon dog cant bite against. If dog keep holding, raccoon dog starts playing dead when it understand that it have lost this game Raccoon dog

  7. have to start new post after summer. we dig 2 raccoon dogs last weekend and i called one fox and friend of mine catch it bit a offtopic, but i dont see difference how i kill predators. best fox is dead fox..
  8. thanks, glad to hear that people enjoy reeding this topic. this winter was easy, cause snow comes before hard minus degrees, so it covers soil and dont let it freeze so deep. last winter was harder, we had over 50cm icy ground under snow in some playces like river banks., its like concrete. now theres just 5-10cm icy ground. but if u dig trough snow 1m and then 2m ground, you gonna sweat
  9. last one in easter saturday. maybe last on snow in this spring. i quess that snow melt in 3 weeks.
  10. thanks mate! i dont know about beeing the best, but we have mentality to do things well we are blessed by huge wilderness and pure nature. it make distances too long, but thats the price i pay for living in Lapland.
  11. I would like to know that is here any breeders, or people who knows some good breeders inside in EU? I have thought to bring some new blood to our little population in Finland. Thanks for answers, already!
