  1. I have a custom built Airvolution in .20 caliber, only available in South Africa and Botswana. A real killer at 950fps with a 14gr JSB, taking geese up to 75 yards, only headshots though. I had a .22 and .177, both pcp (unregulated on speed) here but they just didn't do it for me. The Airvolution just does the job in .20, like the best of both worlds.
  2. Roger is now busy with black powder rifles, I think the airrifles is in the cupboard. He bought a .72 Pedersoli double barreled cannon and are now throwing 800gr bullets.
  3. I know Roger well, we do it under the blanket, as I have said before. We dont call it hunting but pest control.
  4. Sorry fornre-posting but my initial response is gone now, hunting with prohibited with airrifles, finish! Hunting with big bores are something else since you need a firearm licence for bigger than .22, you're only allowed 4 firearms and its a waste to use one on a big bore airrifle. Everything is captured in our Firearms Act. Ps. I know the law quite well since I'm a cop here and will have my own gunshop at home soon. I also do the firearm applications in our town
  5. The young man is from South Africa, we are not permitted to hunt with airrifles here. Anything bigger than 5,5mm requires a firearm licence which is a long process. We do have overseas chaps hunting here with big bores yes, but as the law stands now we only do a little pest control under the blanket... The auther isnbusy with a school project, so please help him since he is not getting any help from our side, undercover operations, and he was then adviced to get some help from you guys. So far I dont really see anyone giving him decent info. So please cut him some slack and help rather with
  6. Thanks friend, I have shot a few brand-names and I still have the same rifle after 3 years. I guess separation is not in my language or needed after the purchase of this rifle. My firend who builds them are shooting at supersonic speeds filled to 300bar. Still super accurate at that speed but its to fast and hard on silencers in my opinion.
  7. I know this pic actually belongs in the hunting dept but it's the only one on my pc. This a QB78 running on 130bar air(hpa), I did the new valve etc myself. I use it for short range pestcontrol. The stock is from Imbuia and a pleasure in the shoulder. It pushes 8.4gr AA pellets at around 780fps for the first 12 shots which is enough for my setup.
  8. This is my .20cal Airvolution, pushing a 14gr JSB at 960fps. It is a local built rifle, strong as a tank and simple in construction. The stock is Rosewood build by myself as a hobby. I use it to take out geese-sized pest/quarry etc up to 80meters with pinpoint accuracy.
  9. Only have a Jack Russel for follow up and tracking. Thanks for the welcome.
  10. Hi fellow shooters, I'm from South Africa. I shoot centrefire, airrifle and muzzleoaders almost on a daily basis. In the process of starting a gunshop from home and work for myself hopefully if all works out. Regards Wildeboer
