  1. Reading this post and all the comments, i gather something has happened between chimp and zini. I don't know what has gone on and neither do i wish too, so this post of mine has no loyalty to either side and i will speak how i see things. We air weapon users reach our limits way way before the gun reaches its. Apart from davyt63 who i have seen shoot with Si on You-Tube, Si is the best (is it shot or shooter) person to get close to the guns limits. I would hazard a guess that Si has spent more time than most, if not all of us at the back of an air rifle. With time and effort he has man
  2. Si I'm not falling for this twice, you had me on this on your YouTube subscription. Chuffing good shooting better than i will ever be.
  3. I must make a trip to SpecSavers as at a quick glance, i read it to say "SNORING DEER" :icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_eek:
  4. Hi D DAVE, Hope you are pleased with the battery, i know mine is serving me well. I still take both the original and the light weight one with me to my night shoots, mainly because i still can't beleive that the little one has enough power to handle a nights shooting (the original one is left in car). I have tried using the lighter battery on continuous and also tried it turning on and off, but it has always had enough charge for my nights shooting. Hope yours is working aswell D DAVE. Regards Roger
  5. Welcome aboard mate, i haven't met any member that bites.
  6. Although i am new to this site and so far had no dealings with you so far. But reading everybodies messages to you, you must be a great guy that is highly respected by his piers. What else can anyman wish and hope for. And from me a newbie, WELCOME BACK.
  7. Been reading this post and for me there has been some good points of view made. My take on the original post is that yes the rat could have got himself trapped in a better position so as to die instantly, but it never. So how anybody can put a trap down and say that it will catch the intended target at a certain point is beyond me, because the (target) rat is free to roam and could enter trap from either direction, unless it was cornered into only having the one way through the trap. Yes the rat got caught by his leg but the dog the dispatched it as quick as possible, which is the way it has g
  8. Best way forward on this is to contact Enviromental Agency fot guidence. They have experts in all areas.
  9. Thankyou SNAP SHOT for the input but i have already tried WD40, 3in1, Silicone spray and even tried spit lol. Excuse my question SNAP SHOT would you know how the scope comes apart if it can? I have read that the scopes are filled with a special gas that stops fogging.
  10. Thank you all for your comments i have taken all on board and will be carefull very carefull in the future. ATVB to you all, Roger
  11. No thanks, i was just trying to be helpful to you. Without knowing you or what is your background, i just brought something to your attention something that i thought you should be aware of. If you already knew the law on this matter, all it would have taken was a line saying that fact. But all i got was silly childish comments. I thought this forum like most was here to be of help to others, like at the moment i have a post regarding scope that is stiff to operate. The replys that i have up till now have been helpful with suggestions. And to everybodies fact file, i am 54 and dont like being
  12. Right i've been told by two "Extreme Hunters" now that i'm in the wrong for trying to be helpful with my comments. It would appear that before posting any comments that i need to check the law, all i was intending to do was to try and help a fellow shooter. I will try to curtail my posts in future and if i can't research all of my posts i may have to leave this web-site and find one that has members that are helpful to each other.
  13. So is what he was doing shooting at roosting pigeons legal or not. I personally take it that it must be legal, because if it wasn't you would have told him sooner.
  14. learn the difference between roost shooting and shooting after dark ,one is legal one is not unless its for ferrels So then clever glogs which is legal and i started my post with the words "NOT CERTAIN". Which gives the shooter the choice to accept my statement and look into it or if he is happy that what he was doing was legal and do nothing.
  15. Hi Gang, I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem or knows of a fix for it. I have a Hawke 3-9x50 AO scope and the magnification ring is very stiff to operate its so stiff that i have to take off a glove to get a proper grip. The scope is now six months old, although i bought the gun set-up second hand the gent i bought it from looked after it very well so dont think he would have caused it. Hope someone can help because i can't afford a new scope. Cheers ATVB Roger
  16. Not certain of it, but thought it was against the law to take birds at roost. The only exception was feral pigeons. Worth checking before the next outting or run the risk of loosing guns. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. ATVB Roger
  17. Davyt63 is a top man and although i don't know him, i wouldn't think for one minute that all this praise would go to his head :toast: . That's my attempt of three cheers.
  18. Zini, i'm entreaged now as to what is happening between you and Daz?. Tell me is it some secret club that you are getting together, can i be "moneypenny" i promise not to wear skirts. Has the club got a secret handshake that i should learn lol. Sorry to make jokes as you will hopefully excuse me as i'm high on morphine due to pain. Sorry if my sence of humour is different to others. ATVB Cheers Roger
  19. Hi to all of you. I am the proud owner of a Nite-Site 50 and think its a great idea, but i am affraid that i will not be able to join in. The main reason is the distance although if i was not disabled and had a full time job i would love to join in with the fun. SORRY ATVB Roger in Oxford
  20. Thank you Sjt657 I put it down to the years of dedication that i put in doing suduko puzzles sat in a room on my own. lol
  21. I took the polo mint challenge myself, i also supaglued the mints to a board but i went for the whole packet. Set the board up at thirty metres and got out my trusty AA410 Carbine in .22, thought this needed both the gun and i warmed up. So went plinking for 50 shots to get into the groove. I then settled down with the AA on its deban bi-pod, control your heart beat and breath. First shot, polo still intact 2nd shot same outcome. 10 and still intact, 25 and not a single broken polo. It was then that i started to relax and started to become complacent 35 and all polo's intact. It was then some
  22. Bill, I already have a Nite-Site 50 and was astounded at the weight of the original battery. I watched Country Persuits TV on "You-Tube" and Malc has done some research into replacement batterys. I went onto E-Bay and found one under the item number of 250919245956, although it was slightly more expensive than the one ddurose bought, mine was in the uk. It hold more charge and is so light that i put mine in my jacket pocket and its not noticable. Not sure what your thinking was behind buying two? ATVB Roger
