washing and lubeing pellets?
porkycrook replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I'm with Graig on this. When i get a new tin i empty into a jam jar sized jar followed by a couple of drops of washing up liquid (whatever fruit smelling liquid that has seduced the wife this week) with hot/warm water. I have the water as hot as i can stand, then i swirl them around by replacing the lid and carefully swishing them about to dislodge any loose bits. I then drain and repeat another two times, then i empty onto a plate with several layers of tissue. With a couple of sheets i put ontop of the pellets to soak up what water i can, then i use a hairdryer to dry them completley. I have -

Matt, it has happened to me three times (i think i should start taking it personal by now?). You need not to take it personally, it was just a buisness decision taken by faceless ones. Just put yourself about and let it be known that you want to work, if you get rejected see if you can learn from it. Keep STRONG. ATVB Roger -
Ditto, i have one. ATVB Roger

Davy mate, when do we receive our orders/directions or a post code will do . I will try and make it up on the Friday to help as much as i can. After our last outing with chaz over ordering on the steaks, do you want me to bring anything or are you sorted? I don't have anymore clocks to give but you are more than welcome to have any of my other stuff to go as prizes. ATVB Rog -

Action is back in the Stock is finished
porkycrook replied to Smokey 1's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Smokey the stock looks stunning, although i think you are right when you said about needing a second coat of stain. They say that the oil finish lightens the stock up, but it still looks lovely. GREAT JOB. ATVB Roger I have just done mine but forgot to take photos till towards the end. I will try and upload. -
Come on then guys, nobody got any recomendations for me?

Hi Edd, If you are after the Nite-Site then i think that the makers have told the sellers that this is the price and don't sell under. I have had mine for about 3 months and touch wood had no problems. There is one area that i'm looking at and that is the brightness of the screen, to sort that or at the moment looking at using some car window tinting film. I have asked for 3 free samples, low medium and high, so will get to try when i have the time. People have been complaining about the tubes from scope to pick-up module, saying that they are weak but i have never found thid to be a problem.

Hiya Gang, After selling (no giving away) my Hawke 3-9x50 Eclipse to Agent47 i need a replacement. I have tried a Nikko GAMEKING 6-24x50 AO ILLUMINATED Rifle Scope Sight Telescopic Zoom Mil Dot, but found that it wasn't suited to my shooting. It had lovely crisp optic's, but with the scope starting at 6 mag i thought it was not suited to rat (barn)shooting. So i need my new scope with a low mag of no more than 4. I would like a scope with a high mag of more than 9, illuminated cross hairs is a no no because they play havoc with my Nite-Site. After trying a Nikko against Hawke, Hawke win ha

porkycrook replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Si or Davy, At the start you stated that it would be Fri, Sat and Sun. What is the agenda for Friday, is it just a meet an' greet. Si has been a star to organise breakfast for Sunday, but if people arrive on Friday what are they to do for breakfast on Saturday? Just thought i would point this out. ATVB can't wait Roger -
Welcome aboard, lovely to see that some kids are being shown that there is something outside the tv or computer screen. Also so nice to see that the children are always watching what goes on around them, how else do they pick up what dad or mum is doing. The lad looks like he's got dad sussed looking at the second picture. So lovely to see parents being parents. ATVB Roger

Hi Guys'n'Dolls, I want a new scope no not need but want. I am busy refinishing my stock on my AA410 carbine in.22 cal with wanut stock, but where i have been using a set of gun sticks they have put some deep scratches in the finish. Lucky enough that the srcatches are only in finish and not so deep as to damage walnut. Anyhow i am using a Hawke 3-9x50 Eclipse scope but am looking at a Nikko from E-Bay 230761845534 or 260906589979. Can my technical department please look at and advise me of route to take as you have a better idea of whats good because i'm drawn to shinny bits. Thank

Re finishing a stock, help
porkycrook replied to Smokey 1's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Man in Preston has found his twin brother living in Oxford. T.V. crews and reporters found them both doing the same thing at the same time. I've taken all the original treatment off, down to the original walnut. I am unsure what grade rubbing paper to go down to? In my pen making arsenal i have sanding pads that go as high a grit as 12000, i know that is over the top for wood but what would people suggest. At the moment and unless any of you tell me different, i have intentions of putting on a minimum of 10 coats of Tru-Oil with light rubbing out between coats then polish out with car -
Peanut butter as Tony said, also you can make a feeding station for them. Like a bird box but with a hinge lid then cheepo cornflakes and unsalted peanuts, if you have a animal feed store near you they will sell branflakes in big bags. Put the feeder up in a tree where you know they are, then watch. They will have a "dinner time" and they will return at around the same time. ATVB Roger
