  1. I read this post on the day it was posted and thought that the language that soldier1 used would cause a reaction. But the way i have taken soldier1s comments is that although he is able to shoot a tight group at 40 yards upto 60 yards where he is still able to shoot a half inch group, he doesn't feel at ease to take the shot on a life quarry. Now i admire the hunter that knows his own limits and will not take a shot that he is not sure of a clean kill, and i hope i am one of them. I am giving soldier1 the benefit of doubt and am guessing that he hasn't or doesn't know how good and accurate m
  2. As mole beat me to it A&M Customs, brilliant reputation.
  3. So nice of you to do this, real gent.
  4. Si, I bet Laura hates it when you go to Tony's. I could see a glint in your eyes when you picked up the new BSA's, maybe another one to the Pittaway arsenal?. Step away from the guns please sir.
  5. Firstly may i welcome you into the forum's clutches, and may i say personally it's nice to have another military person on board. You don't say wheather you shoot a springer or a PCP, although some shooters are able to shoot both equally as well, a PCP is easier to shoot that accurate. If you look on You-Tube you will see lots of people taking vermin at 60 yards easily, so it is now down to how far you are happy to shoot at. As you say in you post that you are able to get a half inch group at 60 yards (which is really good), but you feel uneasy with taking a kill shot at that distance then do
  6. Sorry that you can't make it this tim Chris . See you again in 2013 .
  7. Oi Rob don't worry about me because i can nick any bits that take my fancy of the wood both you and Neil bring lol. I've been to the site once before and if i get my hands on a chainsaw, lets just say that the trees there would need to be scared. Rob, i only do a little bit of wood turning as a hobby, any green timber that i take or get will have to dry for at least 3 years and if i take too much in my misses would kill me. Please don't go out of your way and don't worry over me. Cheers Roger
  8. I've just had to send my Nite-Site NS50 back for a couple of problems. The failure that made me have to return the unit was the multi-position switch on top of the screen failed. So i made a phone call to Nite-Site and they said to return the faulty unit (which i had already figured that out for myself). Since having the Nite-Site which is about 5 months i have never been totally happy with the focus of the cross hairs, i have been in contact with Jake over this and to his and the companies credit he has said if we were able to get together he would look at the camera. As i was having to s
  9. Happy Birthday Tony, hope you have a good one and at the end of it you are in a condition to partially remember it.
  10. Hi Michael, The Hawke Chairgun Pro is designed to work with the Hawke optics, no wheather it works on your particular scope that depends if your optics are the same as the Hawkes. All you could do is a lot of range trials, you would have to type in some information from your particular guns performance and pellet weight and then see if your figures equal those that Hawke Chairgun Pro say you should have. Sorry to be so vague but it is written by Hawke for Hawke scopes.
  11. Rob, The largest size my lathe can take is 12" diameter but some can be split down the middle please, so kind of you Sir.
  12. Ye he's alright for a northerna.
  13. Thats fine Darryl knowing the names for all of these receipes but do you know how to cook them? Have you done the wedding yet? (malta)
  14. Still got your mojo there Darryl. Nice shooting there matey. Have you learnt another receipe apart from the curry mate?
  15. What type of wood is it? I might take a couple of bits for turning. How long has it been cut down and what type?
  16. Hi Garrick, I've the NS50 and i find mine does as it says on the box. the only fit that i would like to add is it does it very well. Envious of you for getting a cracking deal. Roll on Friday and weekend.
  17. The lads done good. And as Adam said bring him to the next meet, with the people that will be there he will learn so much. He probably be allowed to have a try with other guns, that way he will find a gun that he wants. Doing it this way you are not wasting dads money and time.
  18. A hugh welcome aboard young man. Hope you can find the answer to any question you may post, although you may have to sift through some rubbish from some members. Hope you have a good time.
  19. Malt you are probably right and I'm perhaps being a bit over-cautious as to a possible reaction as a whole. But you know how over-reactionary the antis can be and I don't want to see a harmless bit of fun among ourselves turned into something it was never intended to be! Davy. I will certainly have a go at designing air rifle shooting badges that could be easily made for us by various badge making businesses. The Pellet over crossed rifles could be a proficiency series. ONE PELLET. = NOVICE or COMPETITION RUNNER UP . (Bronze) TWO PELLET =( pellets side by side) = INTERMEDIATE OR CL
  20. Been watching this post and i'm confused. What the heck is rfd?
  21. Mawders buddy, i went from a Hawke Eclipse to a Panorama the glass is so so clear you will not regret it. And now Si has showed us his way of setting up scope, my kill range will be doubled so i hope you can use Si's method.
  22. I have a Hawke Panorma and the optics are so clear and the reticle is so fine that it makes hitting what you want easy. If you look on here for Si Pittaway's video about how he uses Chairgun he makes the art of shooting look easy, i am waiting for calm so i can set my sight up as he does. I would be happy to recommend Hawke scopes to anybody.
  23. Not a good idea because i think it may lead to embarassment and member lying. Who in their right mind would really own up to coming from places like, the valleys of South Wales or Swindon or even own up to being a Geordie. We in the South are so lucky.
