  1. They went quite well through my R-10 in .22 but clipped with the mod on, might have to give them a whirl in the HW Smokey
  2. Your right secretagentmole, the Hw 100 gives off a click and the R-10 more of a twang. I was thinking you guys were all robots talking about pellet on pellet at 30 yards but doing it myself shows it is possible with the right kit shooting sweet. Smokey
  3. Very impressed with the way the pattern has taken in the chequering. You should be rightly pleased as punch, it looks brilliant. Smokey
  4. After finding some problems with my R-10 I have decided to sent it away for some TLC, which would mean being without a bunnie basher for 3 to 4 weeks I trawled the web looking for a second gun and opted for a HW100t in .177 cal. Which I picked up on Friday after work, a second hand rifle but it is in great condition. Put the scope on Friday night on zeroed it with super domess at 25 yards (the length of my garden) On Saturday I headed up to a permission but there was nothing around so set about firing some groups, they where good but I felt a better pellet would make the rifle great. I pi
  5. Lucky bugger, have a great trip Smokey
  6. The link you have posted is not a range finder mate, it is a laser pointer. Smokey
  7. dear lord, what a pain in the ass. One of my permissions I have to speak to the armed officers across the rail track every time before I walk onto the farm to shoot otherwise they would be all over me in minutes. To be fair most of them want to find out what I am shooting and how many bunnies I manage to get, they seem to be more interested than bothered. Some folk are just blind to real life and infected by the crap the media churn out. You have permission, are helping reduce a real problem and are responsible with your air rifles, Bollocks to them, keep doing thing by the law and most import
  8. Just found this whilst searching the net. http://www.ontargetshooting.com/download.html Download version 1 Even allows you to save images with the data added Smokey
  9. Well Bill I don't think I waited for the pressure to drop off enough(so she is now looking for a new mop bucket lol). The lads at BAR where very help full and had a look at the mod for me, a quick tap on the counter and a lot of little lead fillings came out. Not good They suggested to strip the shroud and mod, load pellets free hand (absolute bugger on the R-10) and fire off a group to see if the barrel is loose. 1st group pellet on pellet. I then fitted the shroud back on, and the groups opened up. So stripped the baffles from the shroud to find more lead fillings. I removed the two spr
  10. Now that is one cracking looking piece of kit, bunnies beware. At least they will go in style Smokey
  11. Nice one Bill, had not even noticed. I am using the Weihrauch mod on the R-10 as it seems to be highly rated. I am on my way to BAR getting the bottle filled so will bring in the groups and see what they reckon. Thanks again Smokey
  12. So the first pic is the Ogive, AA field and Defiant Groups from today without Mod With Mod The defiants dont clip the mod neither do any other pellet so I am not 100% sure why the Ogive's have a much larger spread with the moderator fitted. One thing I know is the permissions I look after defo require a mod, hard enough as it is Smokey
  13. Hiya Smokey. Just a thought mate , it may be worth sending a good few more through the barrel, being as you have cleaned it. If the Ogives are anything like the Defients, they are quite a hard pellet, not as malable as some, so it may take a good 200/300 just to lead in ther barrel again ATB. Bill. Well after posting that Bill I had another go, this time I removed the Mod from my R-10, not as tight as the Defiants but a lot better than last week when I gave them a whirl will upload a pic in a minute. They must have been clipping the mod on the way to the target. Go
  14. I have tried some of these after reading this thread and ordered some from flebay. I weighed the full box and found the weight to range from 15.7 gn to 16.2 gn. Was looking good, cleaned my barrel and I fired forty through my R-10 and then tried some groups at 25 yards, not impressed. I was not able to produce the same groups as say the deviant's in 5.52 or AA Fields flying off in varied directions. They all seemed to be in great condition with not one having any damage to the skirt. My R-10 just did not like them, which is a shame as the quality and weight difference is spot on. Smokey
  15. Very intrested to see the results, been pondering on weather to send mine away for some TLC torn between XTX Air and Mr B. Smokey
  16. Welcome to THL mate, you will need to keep a good stock for all your spangles Smokey
  17. Good stuff, another R-10 owner Great read Smokey
  18. You may want to fast forward to 8 mins, can it be done? Yes Smokey
  19. Great video, beautifull stock you have there it looks the nuts. Just the one but though !! You need to send your scope mount to Gary Cane and get him to make it up out of the same birch ply. It would look the bollocks, not that I am a tart or anything
  20. I sat behind one of the screens I have placed alongside the railway field this morning in the hope that a bunnie or two may turn up. The weather was awful, gusty wind and freezing cold to boot. After an hour with not even a sighting I was considering packing up and heading back over to the silo's to see if a Maggie or two could be had. Then a wood pigeon hovers down onto the fence for a split second before dropping into the field, cant believe my luck. It was only twenty yards or so to him, lined up the scope on his head and held it slightly under, took a deep breath, bang he flapped about for
  21. Makes you want to chin the pike a slap the chav pricks around the head with it Smokey
  22. I think your right, I dont have a IR kit at the moment and as originaly posted the train line runs parallel to the field. After watching a few youtube clips the Nitesite looks likley to next on the shoping list. Smokey
  23. I have been up to this farm 5 times since and have just sat in the van watching the bunnies, there is a dip in the field which runs a good 150m toward the farm buildings. This is where they seem to appear from most, so with the little bit of home work done I decided to head up yesterday and peg out a screen 40 yards back from the dip, come back in the morning and sit it out. I have only just moved over to a BSA R-10 and had set the zero up to 25 yards I needed to be a bit further out so re-zeroed the scope to 35 yards. When using my old springer 35 yards would have been about the limit but th
  24. Thanks for all the advise, I think that I will give the ghillie suit and cover a try. Just watched this video on youtube got to be worth a try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMTphqlSZSQ&feature=context&context=C4d68181VDvjVQa1PpcFOnQEGwBGZRocl1YsAoP4GHTg8DK36U6yI= You can see how he has set up towards the end of the footage Smokey
