  4. Has anyone shot one of these or has one in the cabinet, looking for a lightweight gun for rough shooting over the dogs. I was considering going the 20 bore route but these are about the same weight, wonder what they are like recoil wise and do they handle ok, what is your overall impression of this gun ? Cheers in advance Smokey
  5. Try covering his dry food with warm water and letting it soak for a few minutes before draining it off, your dog will take on enough liquid to stop him pissing like a horse and wanting to drink after eating dry biscuits. Tripe is also very good to add to dry food to soften it up a bit. Smokey

  11. I took the dogs to the shoot today to dogin the woods and the top of the fell. Muswell flushed three birds out of here before I let little Lilly have a run about, I don't think she has done any retrieving previous to me taking her on but she is a natural. She took them in cover and even jumped back across the stream with one. I think she is going to be a very special little girl Smokey
  12. Keep you dog as it is, pick the drives you know best once you are used to them and pick who's dogs yours is running with. Some people overlook the best places to find birds, so next time you out remember where the birds held up previous and try to get on them before they do. It is a good thing that she has not seen many but been listening to all the commotion and smelling there sent but still stayed with you, I would say that the training is paying off. Don't let her get into bad habits like the dogs 60 yards from there owners. Smokey
