I just had a fettle with my hw97k, it developed a grinding when cocking, im guessing some grit got in there somehow. re polished the cylinder and its like butter again now after a relube. itching to get out to re zero the scope in but its cold rainy and pretty windy so no point really cant beat a good fettle on a rainy day going to look into re blueing a bit more , was going to spraypaint it camo but not sure now after seing how nice your tx has turned out! -
Cheers lads

Is it easy to blue a gun? What do you need? What 'blue' did you use? -

Nice work mate looks a million times better than the rusty version lol -
Too many scams etc prefer face to face mate. This is my first 'proper' sale, usually i goto the gunshop and get my pants pulled down :/ Im in no rush to sell it and im not taking less than £250 for it- im already losing £110 on it, thats bad enough! Bet the gunshops would offer no more than £170 for it lol then they would sell it at 300+ and make a killing on it!! Im sure someone will fancy it at a bargain price- its pretty much a brand new rifle only fired 800 or so pellets! Cheers, SKoT

Skot Ruthless Teale replied to massa's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
No idea about the 510 but the 410 is a proper quality bit of kit Had one in .22 for a couple of years and it was a great hunting rifle -

Hey there, Coypu Hunter .. I was in the same boat mate, got a hw97 after a few years off shooting, and thought 2p sized groups at 35 yards were as good as it gets.. then I seen verminhuntersTV and the accuracy they were getting, I thought only pcp's could be that accurate. then I kept practicing. a hell of a lot! and now my groups are almost always 5p sized rather than 2p sized! so practice really does help. lots of it. practice practice pactice my friend!! as for the tune making a rifle more accurate, nope. they are built to be accurate, its just easier to get the accuracy if there smo

Skot Ruthless Teale replied to mattybugeye's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
check the power before you cut too much off mate. my 97 is doing a pretty good consistent 10.3 with rws hobby .22 .. and if it creeps up slightly then im still well under the limit. just how I like it. still can kill at good ranges but accuracy is more important than power in my eyes -

sounds like your on a right mission getting this right! good luck with it mate when I was fettling my hw97 few weeks back I had to strip it quite a few times to get the power right ! its pretty steady now nicely below the limit. and It shoots pretty nice, just had it out and bagged a few birds. -

crow headshot first woody headshot both woodys -
Just a quick write up lads. first shot a crow good standing shot about 32-34 yards booom headshot. kill confirmed. second shot. crow, 38-40 yds. all I could see was its head. hit the branch just under it that was covering the rest of the bird. it was kill or miss so a safe shot and unfortunately I fluffed it excuse/reason - had a lot on my mind recently. --------- sorted myself out, then shot #3. woody. 26-27 yards. headshot. #4 woody again, only 17-18yds but very elevated. couldn't get a headshot branch was in way, heart and lungs it is then... executed (litte

might grab the 97 and go to the roost. its 7mph wind wich is very manageable for shooting in.. thing is its 2 degrees and im a bit of a fairy these days after not being out much recently! think I need a kill to cheer me up a bit lol been down in the dumps a bit recently. just some me and the rifle time is good therapy tho. feet are aching bad, and im nackered haven't slept much for 3 days straight . but I need to stop being a fag and making excuses! wheres them thermal socks and my rifle bag??? updates to follow mac hope I don't blanket-blank!

I tried the napier lube I think I used too much tho, as it caused dieseling :/ I don't bother now its too much hassle washing and lubeing pellets! I don't really shoot more than 50 yards and at that range I can still hit a 2p every shot with pellets straight from the tin! just m opinion. I might give it another try one day

I was desperte to get out at the weekend but the weather was rubbish! My poor hw's are just gathering dust

The Quietest Springer ? Advice Please
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to patterdale's topic in General Airgun Discussion
my .177 hw95k with the hw silencer, after I fettled it to get rid of the twangs and bangs, was the quietest springer I have ever shot. sounded like a pcp that was running out of air! verrry quiet. my .177 hw77k goes like a shotgun in comparrision, in recoil and noise lol might see if my mate wll trade the 95k back to me -
First Night On A New Perm........ Jackpot!!!!
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to Daz39's topic in Airgun Hunting
oh they do go together very well indeed. you put the hw100 on the bipod 40 yards from a warren, then go for a beer on your deckchair! then when you go back theres dead rabbits everywhere due to the autoaim and heat seeking rounds that the hw100 has. THEY DO SHOOT THEMSELVES MAC  -------------------------- lol only joking, it is down to the guy pulling the trigger, you have done mac proud here Daz mate, and congratulations on becoming a proper hunter lol many more good days to come, now go buy some game bags or a wheelbarrow for all the rabbits you shoot sorry
