  2. Yep. Had one, and miss it now and again.
  3. Thought you were going to say that the son had really caught the airgun bug and rendered you surplus to requirements!
  4. He's a cracking salesman is Tony, excellent patter with experience and knowledge. Easy to see how Si has ended up with not just a second rifle, but a fourth, fifth, sixth....
  5. If you have a set of drift pins, a screw driver and a suitable place to work, I would strip her down, inspect the cocking arm for wear as well as the piston head etc, regrease, chrono and off you go! Lots on fun.
  6. Just read my post back and there's a rather large gap in my knowledge and recollection regarding statement about pellet design. If someone could fill in I'd be most grateful and eager to re-learn.
  7. Open to correction and education on this, but is there something here to do with ze Germans using 5.56mm and us imperial brits manufacturing a fractionally smaller .22" (5.55mm) is that right? Explained why the dumpy old British Eley Wasp faded in favour of the longer skirted german pellet design we have today that is now the generally accepted 'norm'. I love the history involved...
  8. Perhaps equaled, but certainly never surpassed. Here is a fine example of the inimitable Weihrauch HW77. With a legion of avid fans garnered from its prowess and success this rifle has won the hearts and minds of countless airgun shooters over its production life and deservedly so. The Serial number 114xxxx and the 'Made in West Germany' stamp will reassure any buyer of the unfailing solidity and reliability that secured Weihrauch's name in an age when pride was gained from a superior product and quality control was paramount. Cocks and shoots smooth and straight with rich bluing, those se
  9. Got a full length 77 in .22 for sale, but not for £170! If that's your max I wish you all the best. PM me if you'd like to negotiate. Can provide pics.
  10. Haha, you'll be wringing your hands like Si was if you ever make it Elliott, airgun shangri-la, so much choice but which ONE!?
  11. Certainly comes close. So close in fact I cannot, even if I really push myself to be ruthless, name a BETTER underlever springer (which I think is what we're really asking). Equals - two, possibly three.
  12. I was used to rabbits and cockerels at the time, so gave it too much oomph. Certainly can't be prissy about it. Thanks for the tip though.
  13. Same story once for me, though when I twisted the neck, his head popped off! Mawders was horrified!
  14. I bought a synthetic 97 a year ago or so and not only was the balance not to my liking, but the hollow stock resonated a 'ping' after every shot. Weird!
  15. I've got similar plans for another .22 HW77. If you fancy some company we could have a shoot off. Think I'll take Davys excellent advice too, I find the same thing as shown in my HW77 video, plus i'll save money!
  16. Result on all fronts there! The nickel is an interesting choice, but how are you finding the synthetic stock for balance?
  17. Excellent account there! Trust you're well my friend.
  18. Oh christ! Here's wishing you a speedy recovery!
  19. I really hoped to keep the HW77 as its not one I'm likely to find again. But; Not my preferred calibre, It was one of three guns (The two HW35's), Was too long for my gunslip! Too pristine and 'nice' for what I want to throw about the fields and trees, Just a touch too front heavy for little old me It didn't hang about either, sold earlier today!
