Dog whining and barking at night
jiggy replied to the lamping ferreter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Them collars can get used wrong in the hands of a fool. I seen a guy that couldn't train his dog an English setter. I've seen him firing shots over and under the bitch for hunting on. He had her hunting with a beagle x pointer that was very good. She was taking everything in front of the bitch. Total wrong thing to do. When the beagle x pointer died then the setter turned into a better dog. When she was loose she ranged out and done what good setters do. As soon as he put collar on her she would walk 2 feet behind him all day. He shot some game over that dog after and all the mistakes were his -
Dog whining and barking at night

Pet safe is the most common company selling that stuff in Ireland. I haven't tried them. All my dogs stop barking when I tell them but I had one patterdale bitch that was unreal. Nothing would stop her and I bred a litter of pups out of her and they were worse. Nothing only a fire breathing dragon would stop them. I gifted them all to friends and I'd say they are all single or divorced. -
Good to know for future reference. Like you say if it's supported on the rail then i suppose it doesn't matter where it lands when it closes. Interesting and I like learning. Stick up a photo of the finished job. ? Sorry that the topic has deviated from the rabbit. I'm sure he is glad. ?

Don't be silly they are starlings ?

Nice one but I meant more along the line of if the wall is parallel with the far pier. Would it look bad if it was opening and closing at an angle. Obviously not your fault but the bricky. If the bricky offset the other pier by 2 feet would you then just strike to the wall. I'm actually not nick picking here because sometimes online things get taken up the wrong way. I'm actually looking for your advice because I lay bricks and sometimes you build a nice straight wall an entrance but the neighbours pier ends up at a piss poor angle. Would you have to strike the far pier for strength or let's s

You have to watch for the man with many faces (game of thrones if you've watched it) Dog fox hasn't gone away my friend he is just wearing a different mask at a racecourse near you.

That will be nice when done. I'd imagine it's difficult line up the rail if the neighbours pier is slightly offset from the near one and probably built separate with it been higher.

Nice setup mate mate and i wouldn't worry about crack in the concrete. I've seen cows fall in to them and come out ok. I'm a bricky and I checked out a house for a mate of mine 20 years ago. The house was built 150 years ago and had a few hair line cracks so I looked at it. He sold up house after and his marriage cracked twice but the house held. The house is still fine but he is still fighting his missus.

I've never seen anyone before with footwear longer than their shadow.

I think your doing fine and trying your best. You done well to get that many so far. Some will say feed the Jill meat and eggs etc and when the kits start taking solids then soft kitten food. This is the hunting life website though and if one guy says feed concrete then the other guy will say tarmac. Whatever works then it works. I'd ask a guy in private that has already reared 10 plus.

Cull the Gardner first and then the kerb layer. There will be more time to sort the rabbit then.??

Sorry wilf i missed your reply yesterday. I'm not looking for an arguement and never have started the usual name calling on here. My point was more that I wouldn't put someone (tough guy) or not up on a perch after he stabbed someone in the back. Your right in what you say that sometimes people don't come across right online. There's plenty of champions of the underworld that only survived as long as they did with grassing people up and sticking them in the back. Wouldn't rate them as king of the jungle and it's usually a little junkie that sticks one in the back of their heads after, no diffe

What is what it is means if you sign up to be a soldier then there's a chance you will or won't be killed. If your an innocent 20 year old plumber working in the wrong house at the wrong time and a gunman kills the occupant that you don't know and then you because your an unfortunate witness. Then the gunman was doing his job!

https://amp.theguardian.com/uk/2000/oct/15/tonythompson.theobserver This witness! It's like that here too. The old gangster turns up with some nice duds on and is given an air of class. Is any of them any better than the two that murdered that poor soldier on the street. There's loads who built schools and church's in their areas and gave to the community. Whitey Bulger ( grass), El chalpo (hung up bodies of his enemies in the trees leading to his house and pablo Escobar ( released an indigenous population of hippos on the wrong continent among other things)?

Was the witness that turned up murdered?

Gangster John Gilligan was originally given a 28 year sentence later reduced by a few years in Dublin for importing cannabis. They couldn't get a conviction on him in the murder case of journalist Veronica Guerin so when they did get something on him he got hit with the highest sentence in history for a class d or c drug. Politics takes over in high profile cases.

my kits have died but she aint eaten them she has buried them
jiggy replied to daveylad's topic in New Member Introductions
No right or wrong. I'd just see it as a wasted opportunity especially in something as unpredictable as lurchers throwing to type. If you wanted a nice pair of racey confident pups with a nice long back for yourself then it's hard tell at 1 day old towards 12 weeks old especially in a first cross. Chances are you could end up with the cobby less confident 2 and cull the type you were after. -

I've no issue with culling failures. Selling substandard adult dogs that failed but previously killing young prospects from the same litter that never had a chance to show what their worth i don't agree with. I think we are on the same page here but it's hard get point across on internet. There is a reason you don't pass on dogs because you don't breed. Funny it seems that all the famous dog men on here were pedlars( liars and grasses ) of some sort. -

Your arse would still be twitching when the 4th owner goes to smack you on the head. Don't worry Fido it's for the best. I'd hate to see anything bad happen to you ya.???? -

Good for you pal. My point still stands though. People cull surplus out of pride but then still sell the failures they kept. If it's not good enough for the breeder but still fetches a few hundred off the next lad then it's fine and dandy. I'd rather the young prospect and take my chances than the confirmed failure. -

I can see your point but sometimes litters get bred because the owner wants one or 2 pups and then culls the rest in case they end up in wrong hands, Then 18 months later the breeder decides it's not the dog for them but might suit someone and then sells it for 200 quid anyway because it only does rabbits. The 5 he killed were potentially the makings of top class dogs but the runt was kept. If the dog was given the chance he would take option alive on every try. Maybe he might do 1 or 2 year in a bad home and then get a chance after that and make a good dog. Option dead gives them no chance a
