Hi, I've seen a guy on here that sells lure machines but I can't find him. Could someone point me in the right direction. Cheers.

This is why I declined at first, you can never be to careful but I honestly think they were looking to rehome this dog though, they could see I had the same breed and mine were well looked after and offered it to me. I should of at least got his number but when your caught on the hop you just don't think!!!! Cheers for advice but I would never let a stranger to my house, I would of collected the dog from them.

I posted yesterday under the heading "Thame country show" although I've had 50 views no one has responded. I'm pleading to anyone who was at the show on easter Monday to pm please. Two genuine, nice guys approached me whilst I was waiting to give my dog a run on the lure. They said my dog was lovely and said they had one the same that they wanted to home and asked if I was interested. Taken by surprise I declined but since getting home and speaking to my partner it's now possible to give this dog a home. I'm kicking myself and can't stop thinking about it. Please if you were at the show and ha

I take my older girl lure coursing once a month, I'm very lucky as I also have access to private, closed in land where there are lots of bunnys to chase so she gets to do what salukis are bred to do, it's when I'm out generally walking I have to be careful with her. thanks for comments so far.

Brilliant pic. How did you get your dog to that level?
-
Dave N Why get a saluki? why not!! Why do you guys think your the only ones allowed to own this breed? im trying to do whats best for my dogs and some of ya just wanna have a go!! They may be pets but just because she is not "worked" does not mean she is not allowed to behave like a saluki. Labs were bred to retrieve Cargo or men that fell over board from ships surely thats classed as working but they havent lost the drive to retrieve since they have become pets, i know mine hasnt!!!!

Ahh its so good to hear that other people live on the edge with saluki breeds. Thanks for the help, My older girl will chase deer given the chance and by accident ive given her the chance 3 times, she always goes out of sight but comes back but its what shes doing while shes gone that worries me!!!! Im sure my pup will be the same thats why i want to try inforce some kind of disipline now towards live stock as i know farmers will shoot dogs that are causing their animals distress. Thanks

I want to keep them safe, salukis are known for their hunting instinct, i am well aware of what i have. My older girl runs free every day but im limited where this happens.
-
Thanks, Dont worry i would never ever use physical punishment on my dogs, they are pets and i love them dearly, hense looking for adivise to bring them up as to not cause others or themselves any harm.

Hi all, I have 2 pet salukis, one is 4yrs and a pup of 4.5 months. My older girl will chase anything that moves and she has no recall at all but i really want to be able to trust my new pup off the lead especially round live stock. Although my dogs will never work, i was hoping some kind person could give me advise on how to train my pup to behave around live stock. Her prey drive is begining to kick in now as she chased a couple of joggers this morning, all very funny at the moment but not so when they are adult. Ive been working hard on recall but salukis are known to just switch off when
