  1. Some smashing looking dogs here I'd definitely think about beddy influence in my next dog. Need something to smash the nettles/brambles late summer. Seen a lovely bed/whip as a pet, not over quick but like a train full flight! Waste of a good bitch imho. atb lads, crack on
  2. I struggle to put pics up, everytime I do,they're too large. If [NO TEXT TALK] could put 1 up for me will send them via phone?pm me? If not I will try again later when on comp. will put a pic as my avatar as it seems to hav gone blank (that I can do)lol. Cheers
  3. just remember ya fernch horn to ruond vem all upp, be sroted
  4. just a quick question, my bitch pup is 23/24" nearly 12months.i just weighed/wormed her today and she is 20.3kg . iv been feeding her a bit more than normal as i wanted to put a bit weight on her ribs as when she is unfed she looks thin, when she's been fed she looks bang on, trying to get a balance.i feed her 22%protein dry food, and she gets odds and sods as and when, mince, rabbit, chicken, fish etc. i dont think she is underweight but just if anyone has any feedback regarding height/weight averages.she is sal/bull/grey x coll/whip. cheers
  5. i was out lamping rabbit with a friend the other night and his big 28/9'' dog got 1, and my little 23/4'' bitch got 3 (on same amount of slips). i thought his height put him at a disadvantage, he chased well but didnt pick up as well as she seemed to. i am in no way knocking his dog as its preferred quarry would be something a bit bigger if legal anyway and im sure the desire was there. i think getting down to smaller quarry at full speed is going to be harder for a taller dog desire or no desire. also his dog came home with a recurring injury so could have been feeling that whilst out aswel.
  6. cheers lads thats my mission for tomorrow, off wi a foxed back so guna go see what i can find. can i ask what your best book is, if just one?
  7. can anyone recommend any good reading? cheers
  8. thanks i will keep an eye on her, it is clean enough. not the worst cut she has had just in a nasty place. she seems happy enough wanting to play before.
  9. iv cleaned it best i can as i say she aint keen on lettin me touch it. dont know how its happened, odd place to get caught. cheers
  10. anyone ever had there bitch cut her 'Bits'? iv just got in from a walk and the pup was licking away and i noticed a small amount of blood. i thought she had finally come into season but on closer inspection she's got a cut on her and a small puncture hole just up from it on her belly. i think it should be ok, but just wondered if [NO TEXT TALK] else has had this happen and what was the outcome? she's obviously been licking it and it isnt bleeding anymore, it shouldnt affect her pi$$in as its across to one side. she wont let me touch it but she let me turn her ova and look. cheers
  11. Iv just been leaving it all connected up, hardly used it tbh as I'm just bringin the pup on now and havin short sessions. Only charged it once but have to say even brand new the plugs are hard to connect. Its a shame as they seem a crackin bit of kit, atb
  12. Iv just bought one, hope this doesn't happen.do you lads leave it all connected up or take it apart every time you're finished? Deben warranty says they won't touch them if they have been fiddled/ fixed.bad crack considering the price.
  13. a question mate, with the greatest respect...............would your dog have hurt herself as much if you'd taught her to jump ? i do to be honest as they were something she could well have done if id tried her jumping a 5bar at 5/6month.the more recent one was an old stretch of BW fencing behind a new fence, the only posts left standing and she found them. that was a few weeks ago and since then she throws herself well over most fence/gates. now she wants to/can jump i encourage her.
  14. if jumping whilst lamping woulld you lads keep the fence/wall illuminated til the dog was over or try to keep the beam on the quarry which is over and away? i understand if the dog is on the prey this could be done at same time but given 50yds distance between them what would be the normal thing to do? cheers
  15. how do you stop a dog jumping!? iv never encouraged her to jump but mine has started clearing everything whilst out, she had a few mishaps at the 5/6month mark, got her leg stuck in a 5bar gate she decided to try n jump, stuck in a railed fence too and more recently hooked herself on a double BW fence. she seems to have learnt and is jumping well clear of everything now. i kinda hope she doesnt jump whilst lamping(chasing) but at the same time if she can and does what could be done?
  16. i ordered a lamp off here, anyone know what the delivery times are? 24hour/ 7days etc cant seem to get a reply from the support team. cheers
  17. guna go for the variable tracer with 14ah battery, at 250. whats peoples views and what sorta lamping time will i get out of it? very tempted to just go all out and get the 22ah battery but it might be surplus to requirement. i'll be out as much as possible without killing the dog, or overdoing the permission. this will be my 1st season wi the pup she is 1 in september... cant wait!! cheers
  18. Was ferreting and dog chased rabb round a small horsefield, a big trap pony didn't like it and chased her. She took the rabb live to my mate! Second time that horse has improved my dogs retrieve lol. Won't be workin her round them again tho, not worth the risk.
  19. i kept a hob back from the litter i had in may, id say there around 15/16weeks now? time flies and i cant remember.... how old til i get his tubes tied? his two sisters wont hav a season til 6months so would think they'ry clear till next spring? but worried his mother might come back into season. his balls havnt dropped that i can see and he doesnt stink yet. my lass reckons she sees him trying it on with the sisters, surely this is just play? cheers
