17 hmr zeroing problems
Mark White replied to garethmarfell1985's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
from my experiences some thing touching a floating barrel can change point of impact but it should make it go up and down as well not just left and right and the fact that it is only left and right would suggest if it is a touching problem means the touching thing is moving although i agree the barrel being lose on a grub screw would cause this I would look there if mod is ok. -

do you take the mod off at the end of each session if so I would check there as if your round is just touching a baffle on exiting this would cause this problem as the mod will not go back in the same place when it is put back of I had this problem with mine so I now leave it on take the mod apart and check for anything that is not quite right it could be a slither on the edge of one of the baffles. I also noticed you say you clean your barrel after each session or 50 rounds all I can say is dont leave it for a bit longer some barrels really dont like to be to clean. I have not cleaned my targ -
I cant believe how different the feo work in different areas I have been shooting for years with air rifles and so on I went to college and got my nvq 2 game keeper certificate and spent a year doing deer management with some one I shot every couple of weeks with a state gun then applied for my fac which I got pretty quickly I had 2 rims a 222.50 and a 270 straight off closed ticket for 3 months I wrote and asked for it to be opened with muiltpull requests such as being able to shoot live stock cows and other bits and peaces and it was all granted although I was able to answer all the question

If these come out as described you can also use these at the given distances to calculate your drop of the bullet over a given distance by just counting the squares and adding them up or by looking at how many clicks you need to turn enter this on to your turret and then turn it to correspond to the distance, no need to hold over then but make sure the distance you sight in at is zero on the turret. I will up load a pic of this soon as it is hard to describe. -

Here is a pic of one of my targets I shoot the targets are meant to be shoot at 25 yards but I was having some fun at fifty yards and trying some bits out with my shoulder and head may not mean much to most unless you target shoot the centre is the size of a 1 pence coin the top left shot went low as I pushed my shoulder harder in to the stock. -

good grouping looking at your group with the tape your group was about 3/4 inch. if people are struggling to work out there group centre draw a circle round the group then measure from aim point going across to the centre of the circle then measure up to the centre of the circle this will give you your true point of impact using what I have said, point of impact was 1/2 inch high 3/4 inch right so for people that dont no to bring that group so its point of impact is on point of aim on a 1 click = 1/4 inch you would now at a 100 yards turn your turret 2 clicks down and 3 maybe 4 clicks left I k -

How much power from a light do I need to get out to about 150 meters I notice that alot of you seem to be saying around 50 meters easy but I shot with rimfire and around 100 yards away and yes I no this is air rifle forum but you peps are the only ones that seem to talk about home made night vision I dont think I will have to much trouble getting the camera to work out that far but looking I think the light needed will be my problem.

I think most of use have made it clear that as long as the cubs are dealt with and not left to starve which looking at the pic they have not and it is not just for the sack of killing which again it does not as there appears to be 2 chickens in the photo then I dont think anyone really has a problem with killing a adult fox of any gender good luck on getting the vixen though the last earth I wiped out I left the mother to the end and guess what she did not come back. one other thing am I the only one having a problem with up loading pics I get to the end of the loading and I get a message sayi

i was told the same until i started field target shooting then found i could hit the targets at a longer range i also found pigeons did not die to easy with the 22 which i probably shoot more of. i do get a lot of through and throughs but as i head shoot it not really a problem and i lose very few -

I know it not on subject but I just seen the bit 177 for rabbit I use this round over 22 any day as I just can not get on with the trajectory of the 22 pellet and i find it better as a all rounder like on pigeon as it seems to penetrate the feather better I only head shoot everything and I do not rely on the shock power to drop my quarry you can slate me if you like but this is what i like to use and take rabbit at 50 yards often with my best at 68 yards stone dead. Horses for courses -
non taken her dog died a few months ago so cant be her and if it was which i dout not a problem any more lol
