link to the picture hope this works -
some people would have seen and helped me on here already so thank you. I have made my own version of this great camera it is not quite so tidy as the wiring is not my fault ta but it works just as well and is able to do a few things the ns200 cant. I am able to now get out to 200+ meters day or night I know the ns200 can do this and with out taking the scope off I am able to swing it to the side and carry on using the scope as normal the camera is mounted in such away that when in use it becomes a head rest and the screen is just far enough away that you can view it like you would a scope and

I normally shot or hunt rabbits in the winter and take a few in the summer for ferret food and the pot but last autumn the numbers just dropped loads in the summer time and I did not shoot that many then they where gone took until janurary before they started turning up again done a bit of ferreting and pretty much every warren had dead rabbits in. I can not remember what the disease is called but it will kill a rabbit with in 3 days the only thing it does not kill is the young ones as there emuin system is not developed enough for this disease to attach it but they then become emuin to this d

job is going well went out 2 muntjac down and 1 cub fox all in 3 1/2 hours should of been 3 muntjac but caught me off guard as I was just getting into place used 12g sg so a bit bigger then the aaa head shot muntjac 45 to 50 yards dropped on the spot and body shot the fox around 30 yards dropped on the spot and the muntjac are still edible. I have put a red dot scope on the shotgun seems to work a little better for me. will be back out tomorrow night and early saturday morning so should be able to get a few more before the week is out.

yes your right the police or rspca would be the ones that take it to court but as long as i am within the law they would not be able to win this is why I spoke to defra as we all know there are laws that say one thing then others laws that contradict the other and why these laws are there they can be used the amount of damage in this garden is substantial and my signed consent form would prove that the deer have been on that land for a lot longer then I have, I have looked at the grounds and there is a natural back stop and an area where they feed so I dont need to bait any how but I could pu

sorry has not come out as it should copied straight off the defra site

Use of prohibited weapons and other articles. (1) Subject to sections 6 and 8 below, if any person— (a) sets in position any article which is a trap, snare, or poisoned or stupefying bait and is of such a nature and so placed as to be calculated to cause bodily injury to any deer coming in contact with it, or (This part of the law allows you to put food down to bring them in to a safe place to kill deer if on your land) ( uses for the purpose of taking or killing any deer any trap, snare or poisoned or stupefying bait, or any net, he shall be guilty of an offence. Please read the first few post as you will see I am quite clearly not baiting as i have not shot or even put food down on any ground the deer are already there but to make sure the deer are in a safe spot to be shot I would be-able within the law to put food down on that land to bring them in to a position for a safe and human kill and in the eyes of the law this would be no difference to having a deer lawn in a wood. Shooting deer around a pheasant feeder is legal as long as you are using the feeder for feeding your birds and not using it to purposely attract deer that would not normally be

Ok I will post the act on later but baiting for sport would be attracting deer to a area where they are not present by using things such as smelly things such as aniseed oil and putting feed out to keep them coming back another eg real case although done by poachers was jam sandwichs put by the side of roads when cars came along they would scare the deer into the roAd then take the deer this is classed as baiting although the poaching one is extreme and breaks more rhen one law. Munjac according to this person are classed as a pest and are not indigenous so if they are on your land and damage

Like I said I will be using ballistic tip with back stop but I have spoken with natural England/defra as I still wanted to know the answer to. The question and the answer is anyone that has permission in writing can shoot deer in season with a 12 gauge with a min of aaa shot if it I'd believed they are going too or have caused damage be it a field or a garden they consider a coppies of trees to be any thing more then one and damage can be anything such as a hedge plants, baiting is illegal if this is done for sport but used in a management plan is not and is seen as no different to a deer lawn

i will give this ago then but i would like to know if anyone can give me the answers to what i was asking in the first place just so i know for the future many thanks all

am i right in peanuts are a good food source for muntjac
-
got know mates that shoot with open ticket and there is know way the fao would say it clear to shoot a 223 I am unsure they would clear it for a .22. high site with straw sounds like a safe bet just been looking at different ammo the ballistic tips look good but the silver ones look better i doubt i will be shooting them more then 50 yards out how do ballistic tips work on ricochet if they miss or pass threw the animal.
-
other then trapping which i do not think is legal that sounds like the best thing i have read so far I did not think of ballistic tips and i must say i have never used them how do they work compared expanding ammo which i do know how it works. not to worried about meat damage just need to get the job done.

do you have a licence to trap them then and relocate them is the wood fenced or open sorry but i whave to ask and will not break the law for any one

i HAVE FOUND PELLETS FROM A SHOTGUN IN A RED STAGE I WOULD SAY ABOUT A NUMBER 5 REALLY PISSES ME OFF TO. YOU RIGHT I DO NOT WISH TO RISK MY FAC OR SGC FOR SOME GARDEN PLANTS BUT I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO DO THE JOB AND IN DOING THIS JOB IT WILL LEAD TO A LOT MORE LAND AS OTHERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IF THIS JOB CANNOT BE DONE WITHIN THE LAW THEN I WILL NOT DO IT BUT THERE MUST BE AWAY OF CONTROLLING THEM IN AREAS THAT ARE NOT SAFE TO USE A FA i WOULS SAY IN MY AREA OF ABOUT 1/2 SQUARE MILE i HAVE SEEN SOME WHERE AROUND 20 MUNTJAC ON A REGULAR BASES. sO I WOULD SAY THERE ARE PROBABLY A FEW MORE ON T
-
i HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED TRAPPING DEER TO BE ILLEGAL UNLESS UNDER LICENCE AND RELEASING THEM IS AGAINST THE LAW UNLESS IN AN ENCLOSED AREA AND RELEASED MUST BE WITHIN 1 MILE OF CAPTURE WHICH WOULD BE NO GOOD SO IT WOULD NEED SHOOTING ON SITE AND I BELIEVE THERE IS A LAW THAT SAY YOU CAN NOT TRAP TO KILL BUT I ONLY HERE THIS BIT NOT READ IT.
-
AAA ARE A LEGAL ROUND FOR DEER ALONG WITH A SLUG BUT THAT IS A FAC ROUND AAA ARE NOT IF I HAVE READ THE LAW RIGHT I WOULD BE FINE IN COURT IF I WAS TO WOUND A MUNTJAC BUT WHAT I AM NOT SURE ABOUT IF THE LAW COVERS ME TO SHOOT A MUNTJAC UNDER THE CONDITIONS I HAVE PUT UP ABOVE I THINK I AM BUT NOT A 100% i AM A GOOD SHOT AND HAVE KNOW PROBLEMS IN PLACING A SHOT IN HE RIGHT PLACE FOR A CLEAN KILL THE PROBLEM IS WITH A BULLET WHEN IT COMES OUT THE OTHER SIDE.
-
I COULD IN THE GARDEN BUT I WOULD NEED A FREE STANDING ONE AND I DONT KNOW IF A THREE METER HIGH SEAT WOULD BE ENOUGH IN ELIMINATING THE DANGERS OF THE BULLET TRAVELLING AFTER STRIKING THE ANIMAL

I have been asked to shot some muntjac in a large garden and on a small holding, garden is about 15 acres and small holding is about 5 acres the surrounding areas belong to a game estate which will not allow anyone to shoot on it and will not control any of the vermin in and around this area as they do not shoot this part they do not feel it is safe to do so with a rifle I have looked around this area and can see there point as there are lots of people with live stock horses and lots of out building one mistake would mean damage of some sort. The only real choice I have is to use AAA in my 12g

17 hmr zeroing problems
Mark White replied to garethmarfell1985's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
fair point never considered that. On a down not thought once the gun starts to warm up would it not start to change the impact point as it would have cooled under stress and once warm over a few shoots start easing back. The thing i find interesting is all theses faults it could be I hope we get to know the problem once found.
