  1. when I say they come from a hundred yards that was only 2 out of about 7 I could see not in a herd like stamped either very slowly over about 3 mins
  2. what I am about to write is not what I would class as calling rabbits but I have found on more then a couple of outings when using the deban fox call rabbits seem to come out the hedge to look at what is making the sound and even come some 100 yards across a field to about 15 yards up wind of me in plan view. the first couple of times I was not sure if it was just me being in a place at the right time but I have tried it a few times now at different times of the day and it had the same affect they do seem to come out. I then took a friend who is also on hear and showed him as I was not believi
  3. rats are capable of taking poults I know of a falconer that lost his redtail hawk (buzzard) to rats ok it was dark so they dont move very much if at all, and would not defend its self either when it dark as they cannot see. making it easy for a rat to over power a big bird that in the day would have it for a snack.
  4. ok i make a spelling mistake. you try proving a animal is yours once not in your possession. unless you have paper work saying it yours is not enough you need some thing that you can prove its yours, dna from sleeping area or something a vet report from a operation or a picture of a mark distinctive to that animal may be just enough or a microchip there are lots cases every year in courts where people try and get there pets back mainly cats as they are not always loyal and loss as they dont have proof they owned the animal in the first place. I know this as i happen to do rabbit control for a
  5. It use to be law that you have to report to the police if you hit and kill a dog as they where under license but the license has gone now so there is no legal obligation to report to the police and in general it was beneficial for the car owner to do so as the car owner could then sue as the owner of the dog let it be out of control. I dont know the old laws for cats but there is a owner for one if it is feed and cared for by said person and if the cat has been to the vets they would be classed as said owner I know of cases where cats have moved home and owner can not get it back from the n
  6. That is not correct. If the cat is way from home You can shoot it if it is causing damage. That is not correct. If the cat is way from home You can shoot it if it is causing damage. not so check the defra site they don't have quite as much protection as a dog but to shoot a domestic cat it would have to be seen committing the act it makes no difference if it away from home or not if you where found to shoot a domestic cat for being on your land the police can charge you as it not on your licence if done with a rifle and on top of that the owner can sue for criminal damage. but the
  7. there is nothing to stop you shooting a true feral cat but as said if it turned out to be some ones pet and you are found out you will be charged and they can sue you to for criminal damage I would say play it safe and trap it and hand it over to a rescue centre saying why you are giving them this cat .unless you sure that no one will say it was theirs after would even if it is not there cat stop they could be trouble makers they would charge you first and ask questions later.
  8. I know it a odd question but are you sure you epileptic and it was not wrongly diagnosed I have 2 friends which were told they did not have epilepsie one of them was told this for just over 8 years she had fits blackout at least once a month for all this time then went for a test and had one during it and came away with the right meds and diagnoses now only has a fit every now and then.
  9. If you look at the nitesite the patent number is on the lamp not the camera I am in the process of having a patent done for a mole trap does not work like any other mole trap I know of but will come into conflict with at least 3 other traps. who ever said it has to be a new idea is correct the internal working of something has to be different then it can be covered. cameras looking through a scope has been around for a long time there can not be a patent on the camera it would belong to sony the case is a case so not that. the monitor is just that so not that. it is the lamp I know the lens
  10. I cant say but it look a bit bulky to me I would not touch it.
  11. Never meet one why out hunting but new one he was a driver of a company I worked for he tried to get me to join the hunt sabs not knowing I was into hunting so on the way to work I would find out what he knew and what hunts they were going to try and stop or disrupt and where possible I would let the hunts know what I knew, I know some times it worked as he would tell me the hunt did not run or they could not find it. I also came across a X rspca officer who had turned to being a anti at a new years eve party all I can say is what a night over 2 hours of heated talking if you can call it t
  12. If you know some one with a video and dvd player/recorder you can do it your self with combos play the video and on the dvd side select video in put press record on dvd and play on video and now you have a digital copy if the tape is protected from recording you will find a tab in the corner where the tape runs take it off job done. If it not the combo and they separate use a scart lead from video recorder out put and put it in the dvd player/recorder AV socket press play on video and record on dvd job done. hope this helps you will save loads of money if you have a lot of them.
  13. so you tube with video footage not enough then lol
  14. just in case some say it only dragging it.
  15. I not say owls are the biggest pest to a keeper I said they a pest and when I was keeping the biggest pest for me was the local sparrow hawk for the partridges followed by the tawny owl then the buzzard every where is different as all the land scapes are different and have different levels of pest as you can tell I like birds of pray and in areas where there levels are to high I think they should be moved or shot to a given level I can only speak from my own experience the same as you from yours on the estate with the tawny owl it ripped in to poults in a given area and was the biggest pest f
  16. you laughing because I broke my back or laughing as i have a great life any why has the whole world gotta revolve aroon you you laughing because I broke my back or laughing as i have a great life any why has the whole world gotta revolve aroon you The world does not nor does this forum but you posted a laughing face under my comment of I broke my back just wondered what part you found funny as it goes when I broke my back I found it funny later on when i watched the video but as you have not what you find funny
  17. Ok I will take this on board that buzzards do take adult pheasants although I have not heard of this on many occasions maybe as there are more of them now or there other food rabbit is not quite so readily available due to larger numbers they have learnt to take pheasants a bit more often then I have given them credit for.
  18. you laughing because I broke my back or laughing as i have a great life
  19. dont be sorry about my back I have a great life if you forget about the pain lol
  20. Take a look on you tube or go to the international falconry forum and have a look at some of the posts for redtails the Americans are the best flyer of redtails then come back with that whistling face
  21. broke my back plain and simple cant be doing all all that bending in and out of the rearing pens I worked on 5 estates in total over 9 years started at the bottom and worked up to keeper I still help out on a estate as and when needed. I now do most forms of hunting other then running dogs
  22. One other thing buzzards dont leave the guts in they pull them out and leave them at the side and at the start of this it was said the guts have been left in tack head missing or something which is a trait of a tawny owl in my experience
  23. Dont worry you dont sound arsey just f*****g silly. I can assure you that owls are not on the keepers "bird to worry about list"...as i've said they can do damage and alot of damage in one night but they seldom reappear night after night. Go and ask how many keepers have been hammered by owls on consequative nights, i think you'll find its not much. Now your point about the Buzzard not being able to take youngish poults, oh ffs here we go. They murder them with the greatest of ease.... Jesus a Spar can whap a fair dent in a pen of poults and she's alot lighter than a Buzzard. And were not t
  24. people that do hunt with owls will normally hunt with eagle owls but as they are to slow at flying and to stand a chance with the masses would need to increase there speed or falconry would need to be a night sport I am aware birds can and do take down things that are not the norm but we are taking wild buzzards which are the norm and are not capble of taking much more then a poult which we seem to agree with. total agree temp will make a bird I fly a redtail in her 3rd season she took a muntjac down and took on a fox which she let go which I was very happy with as they have teeth lol she is a
  25. I total agree buzzards are in general lazy which is why they dont make very good birds for falconers, there is no reason a capticve buzzard should be more or less capable of taking anything that an harris or redtail wouldnt, they just seem unwilling to, instead relying on the easy meal from the falconer, and there my friend is your answer buzzards will take poults regular untill there grown on because they are the easiest meal available. tawney owls are very territorial and will not tollerate another in its territory. buzzards were thought to be the same but this is proving not to be the ca
