  1. For what its worth lads ive kept ferrets for over 30 years and i have a jill i bred this year and she constantly wants to take my finger off (at the shoulder). She will be fine for a week or two then bang when you are not expecting it. We have all had biters at some stage or another over the years usually the result of the last owner throwing food in now and again and lifting the ferret by its tail ect ect, you know the drill .But this ferret is different,i have never experienced one like her, one day she will be a normal as the rest the next day she will go out of her way to get you .And im n
  2. Fook that! must get that new spiderman "onesy" and the slippers she got me for Christmas ready :D
  3. Same here mate i have a couple of golf courses now keeping me any old damaged or just plain faded looking ones for nothing. They are only too glad to give them to you and as Malcy above said you might get a bit of extra permission on the courses also.Whats the worst that can happen if you go and ask, good luck
  4. Good honest write up mate and some nice photo's,pissed myself laughing at the "normal Sunday night tingling hands" statement ,,very very true
  5. Good honest interesting write up mate, enjoyed it, and the photo's.
  6. Lads maybe its just me ,but over the years i have seen ferrets kept in some horrible circumstances by guys that treat them as a disposable item. They feed them when they can be bothered ,keep them in hutches the size of a fookin shoe box.And probably at the end of a season hit them on the head or worse!.The reason for this is they are usually free or a fiver at most come breeding season and are easily obtained again.Maybe if the price of a ferret went up, half the dickheads that i have seen over the years with them would be put off owning one.A ferret bought for £30 from that pet shop probably
  7.     EXACTLY!. For years i only used jills then a couple of seasons ago i kept a nice wee sandy hob back from a litter and i can honestly say he has been one of the best most consistent workers i have ever owned. Now to me, it dosn't matter what sex the ferret is as long as it is hunting seriously, and not just rambleing about under ground bolting rabbits that just happen to be in its path. There is a big big difference between a true working ferret that actively hunts rabbits and a ferret that goes down and scares the odd one out.So i wouldnt worry too much about
  8. Same size as australia lol.
  9.  im the same mate the sound is soul destroying in the mk 3,frys my head .My ferreting partner has the mk3 and i have the mk1 when we go out my mate uses the mk1 box more than the mk3 to pick up signals even with his own ferrets wearing the mk3 collars. ive heard that when the mk3 was being designed loads of ferreters were consulted on what they would like the mk3 to be like.Fook knows who wanted it to sound like Steven Hawking on loud speaker but it takes some getting used too.Orange neon colour is a plus but it sounding like R2-D2 farting in the bath is a big no-no from me im
  10. sound same as mine we sling on it over the shoulder with it great tool So what do you do with a six footer end of day geting dark miles away from home ???? leave it and get another ferret

  13. Thanks for sharing this video i thought it was Brilliant ,im not into making knives but i found that video very interesting. didnt realise actually how much work is involved in producing a knife so fair play to you guys that do it.
  14. Just thought id put a post on as every other post has a tricolour and there where no unionjacks :D :D
  15. I love my two quicksets and use them only for ferreting but as Teircel above has stated you can forget trying to use them as he has did on the top of that bank it just wouldn't work.Think its a bit harsh to say they are only good on football fields but i can also understand what he means, as if the ground is really uneven you will get gaps under your bottom line and i have missed a few rabbits going under. That said, i still wouldn't be without them ferreting as they are easy to use and they allow me to surround warrens that me and other ferreters find impossible to purse net. Have never tried
  16. Brilliant lads,I love that type of hunting myself, its great sport well done.
  17. As a rule, ALL beaver tastes good, and I speak from personal experience as a muff diver of many years. I beg to differ my man!! There are some bush pigs on my estate who's beavers I wouldn't touch with a garden fork let alone your tounge!! Feck me big Tracey from no 12!! Well I say no more! :D :D
  18. will a french rat do lol In the name of fook!!!!!! :icon_eek: Better not use your ferrets to shift one of them boyo's
  19. If this is happening just at feeding times its just them squabbling over the grub mate.and youll find with the issue of the box ill guarantee its still over food as one of them has probably brought some food into the bed area.Just make sure they have enough food each but its perfectly natural for them to squabble at meal times.once they mature a bit it usually stops.
  20. I also give kits a feed before handling def makes them less likely to nip, good advice mate
  21. The Asians have been doing this long before the Easterns. Im sure they have,,, just not In Ballywalter
  22. Im all for live and let live and the foreign hoards do work for silly money that most of us would not even entertain so fair play. But i draw the line at my traditional willick picking venue getting mauraded by a bunch of shaven headed neo nazi looking pale faced fookers all with two builders buckets each looking at me as if i didnt belong there. Having said that, most of the women that were with them (also carrying two builders buckets each ) were easy on the eye.Maybe our own Norn Iron girls need to lay of the Ulster fry's and start eating pike or ornamental Koi four times a week washed down
  23. Must try that myself, might as well let the kids get bit instead of me with the new kits
  24. Its not a licence you need here in Northern Ireland, but a fooking great big stick! All the Polish,Romanians Lithuanians have everything fooking hoovered out of everything over here. You cant even catch a decent size pike anymore as them fookers have eaten them.I went to go willick picking a few weeks ago to a wee spot i have went to for years.Thought i was on a foreign holiday instead of my own fooking country!!! There was hoards of them with buckets everywhere, even taking dog whelks and any other thing that slithered or crawled. And not too many were worried about size limits i can tell you,it
