I am new to using any type of long net but recently i bought a 50 yard quickset and its fantastic for ferreting so much so that i am kicking myself i didnt get one years ago.The thing is, i had bought and ordinary 50 yard longnet a while back which has never even seen the light of day and i got poles from a green keeper at a golf course i hunt recently. So i was wondering, is it just a matter of attaching the poles the same as the quick set or do i need to adjust the length of the top and bottom lines ect to make it a quick set? Any help lads would be greatly appreciated.

ferret kit not moving his back legs
vermin catcher replied to minka79's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Calcium defeciency in kits causes the spine deformity as well as the back legs just acting as flippers mate. The back legs go first then the spine twists like an s shape causing the breathing problems and you usually find the ferret cant grip even with the front paws.Happens a lot in kits that are hand reared after their mother has died ect. -

Next some bo-bo will be on saying ,they burn holes through their ferrets lips then sew them shut and have their 4 year old son climbing into large chimneys to clean them. fook me ive never heard as much dung in all my life

summer lampers what are they thinking
vermin catcher replied to lurchers ireland's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I agree with a lot of whats being said, there are a lot of guys out there that dont care about the breeding season and ruining the sport for the winter months .But as some one with a lot of permission from many farmers i can tell you .If a farmer sees loads of rabbits in his field especially now with all the young knocking about and he calls you in to thin them out the last thing he ever wants you to say is "Sorry mate its the breeding season" " i like them to breed all summer and eat your nice crops so i can hunt them in the winter when you have fook all growing in your fields". I didn't know you had access to the internet in Hollywell. Folks, please ignore this guy, the light's on but there's nobody in. Graham, if you really want me dead just so that you can have my 9 ferrets to add to your 10 just come and take them, you can have the cage also, nobody needs to get killed over you wanting more ferrets. I'm getting worried you've weaned yourself of nets and bleepers onto ferrets. Not your ferrets im after my friend.... OOOOHHH NO ,,i heard you got some brand new neon hi-vis spun poly nets. And it gives me a warm tingly feeling just thinking about them :D

Its me thats owns poor Balotelli it dosn't sound too promissing from what ive just read Its a lovely wee ferret and its been getting extra special treatment from the kids because of its stripe .We are keeping her and her sister and 2 from another litter to build up our own hunting stock for the coming season and the kids have been argueing as to who's ferret she is. It wont go down too well when i tell them she needs a hearing aid and a pace maker fitted and cant eat red meat only lettuce and needs half an asprin a day for her ticker. We will see which of them wants it to be their ferret the

Phew! ....glad everything has been ironed out Darren ive been hiding under my bed all day .Glad the Lurcher wars has been avoided and your good name has been restored.Never liked the new "wetnose" name some people were trying to pin on you ,id have much preferred "snatter box"for you as its more a traditional Norn Iron way of saying Wetnose. You can keep my number in your phone now..... but only call if you hear of any nets going cheap!. Or if Bri gets his tits out

Darren i know we have been mates for 30 odd years but please take my number out of your phone...... .you seem to know a lot of dodgey characters from the above posts who want to cut throats ,dig holes for people, slap people.Wow.. there's me thinking id seen it all yesterday when Martin garfuncle Mcguiness shook the wee Queens hand and today i find out my mate, who ive hunted with for 30 years.... judges tortoises ! and gets mixed up in gang land lurcher wars. Its been a hard few days to take in and now i know your secret ,ill be worried come winter that you havn't fed the tortoises eno

Worlds fastest gutting technique?
vermin catcher replied to The Ghost Maker's topic in Airgun Hunting
Glad you answered that one mate as i was thinking there was no way the stomach would detached with that method. In my opinion if you still have to actually open up the rabbit at a later stage to remove the stomach why bother . :hmm:Just gut it normally instead of looking like a mad mountain hill billy squeezing the shit out of things only to go home and have to gut the thing anyway -
:icon_eek:  Phone the circus we have found one of their clowns

All is well there mate, nothing to worry about, all ferrets (jills and hobs) will shed their winter coat as it gets warmer.Jills as stated above also line their nests with their own fur for the arrival of their kits. And jills not on kit but in heat will shed quite badly and usually go thin if not taken out of heat either by a vasectomised hob or jill jab.All normal for this time of year.
