if I can I always go for a neck shot on a pigeon if you can disconnect the brain from body I find there's not even a flutter they drop like a stone as there's no preload the pigeon wasn't expecting anything not like the headless running chicken who was in flight mode just before his demise ..... its a good tip this lads nothing worse than a flapper when your trying to as quiet as possible. atb kanny
  2. its how I do it from my blackberry also when I e.mail the pic it gives me the option of large medium or small... medium normally does the trick ..... that bunny certainly looks brain dead..... nice shooting keep em coming. kanny
  3. nice one gafer there's going to be plenty more I feel. atb kanny
  4. rabbit can sour very quick I find even when punched n skinned cooked rabbit will spoil in hours if just left in the pan so get them eaten or frozen asap ... pheasant and hare you can hang for a week or two but only in the colder months when all the fly's have been killed of .... ive had 2 week old pheasant and it was very nice but those 2 weeks the temperature didn't get much above freezing ..... ideally a proper cold room would be great . atb kanny
  5. nice one moxy good on ya ...... don't to forget to pay it forward andy....... lend us a tenner? atb kanny

    Rats

some set up a permanent light for a few days and bait until they get use to it ..... with rats if your constantly doing the same spot there going to suss you out sooner or later even with nv so you just have to keep changing the game ..... makes it fun mind. kanny
  7. its a problem with most nv setups moxy.... my mrs has a life size rabbit ornament in the garden I set this out at 30yrds and have a good look at the size of things through the scope and see how much it fills my reticle .... its only approx. but it does work.... the more familiar you get with it the easier it becomes. mines a camcorder setup btw atb kanny
  8. theres a fox and 2 half grown cubs knocking round perm at the moment and they have everything spooked!...but it is summer it wont be long before its autumn and they moving on... that or the rifle men will take em ...... did you get the unit set up ok gaff? atb kanny

  13. I can only echo what ghilllies has already said spot on advise there to become a natural shooter ... plastic toy soldiers were my favoured plinking thing when I was a kid as said I would put them out every where up trees and allsorts you will only learn so much from range shooting sadly its nothing like being in the field where opportunity seldom present its self in straight 5 yrd stages . atb kanny
  14. try another trusted scope of one of your other guns first just to rule a scope fault out ... if its still the same then as said get sent back .

  18. for my first time round shooting airguns it was always springers that's all there pretty much was. I started shooting around the age of 9 with a relum tornado and finished shooting in my 20s with a fantastic tyrolean stocked hw77k at this point I feel I had pretty much mastered the airgun if I say so my self I was fecking good with that 77 but then my intrests changed to dogs so I packed up the shooting .im now 40 the dogs have gone and have been back in the shooting a couple of years and now on my 3rd pcp. I have yet to reach the level I did with the 77k that being said my latest rifle the r
  19. mine was a full length mk1 superb gun it never let me down once the only criticism would be the weight the mk1 was a bit of a lump. atb kanny
  20. cracking bag for a mornings work bud
  21. nice going cant fault the old 77 wish I still had mine ..... you did well to get out its tipping it down here.... I sat watching two cubs ragging a rabbit skin for a good half hour last night not 40yrd away... looking at them you wouldn't believe they could be such a nuisance .... all arable around me so there not a problem in fact if there eating rabbits then that's a few less rabbits on the crop but chicken killer must die I agree...... good luck
  22. I liked that cheers!
  23. Thanks for the informative post bud but with all that said I feel the biggest problem was the fact that it doesn't have a clear lens its more opaque.... when I asked the guy why this was he told me it was so the light from the diode was more evenly spread throughout the beam removing hot and cold spots like you get with the cheaper lasers.....as im only using a air rifle a 100m is more than enough for spotting rabbits killing ranges are more like 40m downwards. kanny
  24. feinwerkbau sport perhaps I had one back in the day nice rifle could be a cracker with a bit of fine fettling. kanny
