  1. ??? Yeah your [BANNED TEXT] there, tbh I think it's more the fact I like the Wheaton lurchers so much and watching them work got me thinking about one or a cross bred one for cover and possible make a decent dog around the mouth of a whole.
  2. Totaly agree with you my own terrier imo would be a great choice for putting to a spaniel to produce some great dogs but I like the idea of a Wheaton xs as its diffrent and I like diffrent makes things a bit more interesting.
  3. That's sort of why I started the topic it's not a cross you see much but interesting all the same. I wouldn't underestimate the Wheaton for hunting ability i think they add a fantastic nose to a lurcher and very driven dogs. I fact if it's not a bull xs it's Wheaton xs nowadays in the lurcher game and that's because they add so much to a modern day lurcher in my opinion. I would love to put my own dog to a spaniel also but I doubt that is going to happen as atm I don't have room for a pup.
  4. Good stuff a mate of mine runs few teckles and a couple cross bred ones aswell they hunt well.
  5. Seen a pic or two of a Wheaton x beagle the other day, very nice type. What about Wheaton x spaniel. Surely you would keep some size and strength as opposed to a smaller terrier like a russel and hopefully keep the mentality of the Wheaton. Any one had or run a type like this I'm sure it would have no problem bumping into anything in cover. Pictures??
  6. A think any good dog lad would gift pups to there mates that goes without saying but if you have a couple pups spare 300-350 is not a bad price this day and age.
  7. Few years ago I'd complain paying more than 150 for a lurcher pup but with prices of everything gone up tearing a litter of pups isn't as cheap as it used to be 300 for a lurcher pup seems to be the going rate atm and tbh it's a fair price imo. I used to get my raw food for 25p a lb now its around the £1 a lb atm and I cannot find it much cheaper.
  8. Few more pics from over the years. Don't take a great deal of photos. Fox was bolted from cover and shot in guidance with current legislation ?
  9. Earth dogs mate, not something iv been to interested in however I have had to retrieve him from a few spots over the years.
  10. I'm not wanting to put him to her, I have future plans for my bitch he would fetch height down and I want to keep them about 27tts
  11. My first ever lamping set up right there, perfect for small feilds. Great little gate light on them
  12. ????? I'll pass on that one haha
  13. Saluki collie grey x beddy whippet. As far as I'm aware his litter mates all through to the beddy x type. Hairy little things.
  14. He used to be a very cable on the long ears aswell in his day, was and still is very good in and around cover
  15. Haha he'd fall off the back ???
  16. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he been a good honest dog.
  17. I offered him out at stud once and no one took me up on the offer. I soon realised that there are a few people breeding for looks alone instead of ability. 9 or 10 seasons I ran him for and I can honestly say he has seen a hell of a lot of work. I wish I could get him from a pup again. That was a pup out of him off the only litter he has sired.
  18. 21tts, had a good long working life. Very versitile dog caught all sorts with him. Always seemed to punch above his weight.. Don't get me wrong little dogs have there limitations compared to a big dog but you will be surprised what a little dog can achieve.
  19. I like the black dog looks a good solid animal
