In all this talk of mepps and rapelas youve forgot the deadliest trout catcher of them all. The good old fashon copper toby!!

I got an old coca cola drinks fridge from a shop. Usually joint the carcasses, take front legs and neck off 3 ribs up. I dont bother with hanging this as it goes straight to the mincer. Split the rest of the carcass in 2 between the back of the sirloins and the back legs and hang up in the fridge. Plenty of room for two fallow.ATB Mark

Yeah Drontal for me 2. I use the pink liquid though. Had a litter a chesapeakes last year and they couldnt get enough of it. Any that was spilled outa the end of the sringe they licked off the ground!! Worm every couple a weeks from 2 weeks on till you get rid a them. Atb Mark

Im with martin. Was with BASC for a few years until i had a firearms licencing issue. They were useless!! I swore id never go back to them. With countryside alliance at the minute because we get a discount through our club but ive heard good things about SACS. Never had an issue with Countryside alliance but i've never needed to call on them either.ATB Mark.

You could get 100 responses to this and everyone will be different. Personaly its gotta be red first and fallow second. Never tasted a red that i considered strong or liver like in any way. Never tried roe or muntey cause we dont have them over here. The only other deer ive ate is sika and i wouldnt thank you for them but a few people i shoot with love them!! Atb Mark

RECOMENDATIONS FOR A 22 LR BOLT ACTION
remi700 replied to dogvixen01's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Hard to beat cz or brno for value for money, good reliable rifles. Trigger pulls a bit vague on them though but you can buy a kit for takin out creep and lighting the pull for about £15.ATB Mark -
Been fishin with mitchell 300xe's this past couple a seasons and i love them. Nice and light, instant anti reverse, real smoth and great value for money. Id recomend them to anyone.ATB Mark

Best ' foxing ' bullet for 22-250
remi700 replied to fox_hunter's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Im shootin Hornaday v-max 50 or 55GRs which ever i can get. Fantastic round in my rifle. Tryed Remigtons through her when i bought her new but i couldnt get them to group, posibly because the barrel needed broke in but i never tried them again. Would definatly go for balistic tiped rounds. Better kills and much safer then soft points, as far as rippin foxes in half goes it just depends if the bullet strikes bone or not. After that its whatever groups in your gun. Atb Mark -
Jesus are you sure?? Thats awful early. I shot 2 vixens last week that were still carryin. Cubs here are generaly born around mid march. We dont see them out till July August. ATB Mark

say no to killing pike & protect the dollaghan
remi700 replied to niall_b73's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Again im with Martin. Why should a pike be any different to any other eatin fish?? Take an odd small one and let the big girls back. There fine eatin! I generaly fillet the fish, remove the ribs and skin, then cut into strips long ways to get rid of the pin bones, roll in corn flower and deep fly for a few minutes. You wont eat better! Alot nicer then the shite salmon and trout you buy in the shop that live on fish pellets! Nice boat Niall, best of luck with her, always liked the shelins. Good safe boat. ATB Mark -
Nice lookin fish. She must have her eggs dumped now. I had 1 there this evenin and the spawn was runnin out of her. Caught a fish a few years back with two traces stuck in it where people had obviously broke in her. 1 still had a mackrel attached so she obviously wasnt long after takin it but it didnt stop her tryin to feed again. Got all removed from her and put her back, she was none the worse. We still get pollen on the erne aswell but they live in a huge depth of water! ATB Mark

Yeah i think one would be a good idea for a rimfire when your dealin with alot of drop off at longer ranges. I wouldnt bother with 1 on a centerfire because of the flater trajectory 50 yards either way wont make much difference so id just stick with a good european scope for that job. ATB Mark

Bold patch on me patterdale .

Dectomex or ivomec? Ive heard that about Ivomec. You hear alot of horror stories but i know of plenty of people that use it with no ill effects. Im not sayin that somthin bad couldnt happen but id imagine the chances are very low. -
Thats intrestin Pledgey. Long time from i looked at 1. Seems it takes a wee bit longer to drop then i said earlier. 20 and 59 looks like the sweet spot there.

Bold patch on me patterdale .

Hard to know whats causing it. Friend of mine had a lab with a very bad coat a few years ago. He took it to the vet a few times. Every time he brought it he came home with somthin new to try and a large bill!! Nothing seemed to work for him. In the end a local lurcher and terriar man was dosing his dogs with ivomec. He told my friend to bring the lab up and try him. He dosed him and a week later his coat was comin back. Within a month he was in better condition then id ever seen him. Never looked back from it. Im assumin its fairly low at the minute like the rivers down with me. Spiders in any shape or form are always a good bet in rivers. Small sizes 12s or 14s. Greenwells glory, snipe and purple, black and silver spider or somthing like that. If theres a bit of water runin small wets. You cant go wrong with a black pennel. Again 12s probly best. Maybe a cock-a-bunda aswell or somthing like that. Best of luck. Mark

Zeroing at twenty and fiftey yards should be in the same place. If you look at the bullet trajectory curve the bullet should be still riseing at 20 yards then it should be starting to top out at 35 yards and starting to drop at 40. By the time it reaches 50 yards it should be at the same level as 20 yards again. Stick with your sub-sonics. If you start to shoot supersonic rounds it will be almost as loud as a hmr. Atb Mark.

Ive had a fox round my larsons before too. Had 1 get in and break out again. Ive thought of making a good solid fox trap and setting the larson on top of it. Would stop grey crows from walkin round the call bird too.

What rifle are you shootin?
-
I chanced 1 from hong kong. Not exactly the same as the 1 in that add but somting similar. Mine was only 8000ah. Had to make conections to fit my lamp and it didnt work atall. Even when the battery was fully charged it would just about glow the bulb. You would have thought it was a 6v battery although it said 12v on it. More light from a white cow!! Ended up buyin a deben 1 in the end. Maybe it was just a bad 1. Would have cost more to send it back to hong kong then it cost me. I would be intrested to see if anyone else has got 1 of them to work. ATB Mark.

I can think of somthin other then a camara that id like to shoot that grey crow with!

flames coming out of my breech on a semi auto
remi700 replied to jas88's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Damp cartridges can be the cause of this aswell. As said earlier its perfectly normal. -
I've never heard as much shite in me life! Set a rifle at 200 yards if thats where your gona shoot your foxes?? Do you have them on the whistle or somthin? Can you send them back if you get a sly one dukin you at 30 yards? As the first few comments on this stated set 1" high at 100 yards and you wont be far away. Whats an inch in the side of a fox.
