  1. I found a fresly dead fallow fawn yesterday, so I thought I would borrow a friend's camera trap and see what happened to it. I hammered two stakes through to stop any badgers etc carrying off the whole thing, and got some interesting shots. This is my first try with one, so will need to experiment a bit, but there are a couple of things which struck me. It would seem that night pictures are flooded with white because the camera was too close so there was too much reflection of the infra red light; I have moved it back a couple of yards for tonight's effort. Also, the shutter speed seems a

You're not far from me I'm near dunstable. My mate used to live on Bletchley used to do shift work in North London. Spiders.

f***ing horrors them camel spiders lol. When I was in Australia I woke Obe morning and could hear this tapping noise. Looking towards the window I could see a huntsman spider as big as my hand standing on the outside window sill and had its two front legs up just tapping on the fly screen like he wanted to come in. Made me shudder.

  10. Guts arnt first choice for fox either I didn't know that.?
  11. Somewhere drifting out at sea is a little rowing boat and sitting in it are cushti Paulus Gnasher and dogpoop
  12. One observation on the photos of carcases is that the removal of guts carefully like that is typical of a cat. Big cats in zoos will even remove the guts from rabbits. You all know I'm sure that dogs will gobble up guts. I have also watched badgers happily slurping down deer innards from a gralloch
  13. Get some laxatives in his tea in the afternoon beforehand. He will be in no state to go anywhere ?
  14. Doesn't wilf live out there somewhere ? Maybe that's him......?
  15. I think it's still there. Must be 20 years since I was there but they had a preserved sailors arm complete with tattoos amongst other things I don't know if its still there nowadays mate,i do remember the owner did a spell in the hotel Babylon after the RSPCA or some wildlife organisation did a hatchet job on him. Yeah he didn't have proper certification for quite a lot of stuff
  16. Those can be more than just rabbit dogs ?

  19. Has he eloped with Gnasher
  20. As far as I can make out the law forbids ownership but how you give up ownership was up to you. Obviously people don't want to give up a much loved pet to be euthanased but try to find a zoo which has empty cages just waiting for someone to offer a spare animal to fill it. Apart from the fact that zoos have studbook and genetic programmes for most species so won't jut take anything there is also the simple logistic of space . As for the idea of cats learning to hunt they actually learn quite easily. Just look at your pet moggy it will be bringing in mice and birds from just a few months ol
  21. anything named Fortean is named after a bloke called Henry fort I believe, he claimed that scientists were to quick to dismiss anything that fell outside the box or did,nt fit with there agenda so most things Fortean are about proving things that science refuses to except like big cats running loose in the uk, I believe his son or grandson still travels the world looking for animals that don't excist or are meant to be extinct, just to get the mystery going again what is this, I do know and will tell but interested to hear others points of view Looks like a puma to me
  22. i used to look at fortean times in whsmiths! used to be an interesting bit about wierd animals and the rest of it was crap! teleported by aliens ffs
  23. Yep I have to agree it is odd but remember absence of proof is not proof of absence? I don't know why there are no better pictures coming through. Let me add I don't carry out any research into British cats myself and have never seen one I just find it a fascinating subject and have been lucky enough to speak to some very interesting people about it. I have also heard enough from credible witnesses including close friends who I believe to have 100%seen big cats wild in Britain
  24. Good points, thanks for that! That scratches part of my equation. Is it possible that there could be illegal collections that circumvent the law? Over here a lot of states have strict rules on what can and can't be kept. A couple of years ago someone caught Pacu in a local pond! Different species, I know, but looking at what collectors will pay versus what inexperienced hobbyists have done to areas of environmental sensitivity, is not likely, possible, probable? Big cats can be kept legally so no need to hide them especially when there are penalties for incorrect keeping. It is possi
