  1. Hi Davy Apologies for being a bit quiet as of late, I've been away in the warmer climates with work. The old-downs place sounds like it could be good, I'm right the other side of Cheltenham, but my girlfriend is at college in Cirencester so I'm sure I could work something out. One question, do you shoot .22's there? The place I found around here only shoots .177 Pretty blonde bird sounds attractive in any case!!! Thanks again Matt
  2. Hi All Looking for someone to help me get back up to speed on shooting/hunting. I don't expect to share permission or anything, literally willing to carry/drive/chauffeur you around for some old fashioned knowledge. I'm willing to travel around so if anyone needs any help around the Cheltenham/Gloucestershire area let me know I'm sure I have something I can exchange for a bit of a lesson in vermin hunting/gun etiquette. Thanks Matt
  3. Hi Bill Thanks I put my all into scouts as I think its such a valuable part of the kids life! Just wish I had started earlier! I see you're in Devon - Jealous! We (me and the mrs) can't seem to stop coming down and camping all over Devon! Beautiful place Matt
  4. Aye its a bit of a trek up there these days!
  5. My mate has an ultrafire. Does yours take standard size batteries or the harder to find 2/3 size aaa batteries? Where did you get your ultrafire from? I was looking at getting a green/red filter for the lenser (they make a kit for the T7 but fits the P7 fine) Matt
  6. Hey thanks Bearinator, I didn't think to look on the NSRA site. I have emailed a couple of local clubs to ask around. I'm more keen to get some practice in so I can better help the scouts. I will eventually be sent on an official course with the scout group to get a range officer certificate so that should help. Thanks again Matt
  7. Hi All I currently live in an apartment, so I dont have any land to practice on. I have quite alot of experience shooting various rifles/shotguns back up North but haven't picked up an air rifle in probably 8 years now. Just a bit of advice really. I still have my old rifle, but where would I practice? I have found Glevum target shooting near Gloucester, does anyone know if they are any good? Also, I mentioned in my intro post that I am a scout leader over in Andoversford so we have a pretty big hall we set up for the kids to shoot, but its not really big enough to practice for game sh
  8. Hi All I have been thinking about a small, portable lamping setup recently. I have a LED Lenser P7 torch, which outputs around 200Lumen with a variable focus beam. It will throw a tight beam a considerably long distance and I thought it would work pretty well as a close range lamping setup. A friend and I go airsoft shooting and have scope mounts and remote switches for the torches which I thought would work pretty well? Does anyone have any experience of using this kind of setup and would it be worthwhile giving it a go? Thanks Matt
  9. Hello folks I have lived in Cheltenham for about 2 years now and have decided to get back into shooting and the like. I used to live up North and frequented the Boar Shooting Ground in Glossop and used to spend a fair bit of time lamping and plinking on my mates dad's land. It seems a shame to give it up so I am researching my options around here (living in a flat doesnt help much) Also, I am a scout leader for 1st Andoversford scout group who have just purchased a selection of .177 rifles and traps etc for the kids to shoot in the hall. Due to scouting laws, live game and anythin
