Hands Up i could be wrong about the rimfire thing, i have no problem with that, it was just something i read somewhere and i dont think its much of a big deal. but i suspect thats not the issue its more about who wrote it!!!. i have done as was suggested to me that i contact remington to see how much they produce and i have done the same with cci to ask who they produce it for, but i dont think i will get an answer to that one. as for the transonic thing yes i agree that transonic influences exist it is well documented, but the disagreement came about over a very specific context ie. the tra

Cant argue with that, but i dont think he would have a problem getting another calibre anyway and personally i would rather have a bullet calibre than a shot pistol anyday, they are a horrible bit of kit. -

I think you may find that the taurus 410 revolver was banned because it can fire the 45 long round and it has a rifled barrel. from memory that was in 2010. Also Cost and availability are not considered good reason when it comes to section 5 guns. but yes plenty do get them but shot pistols are limited to smooth barrels and 2 shots, at least thats what i was told. -

Or you could ask for a fully auto AR and tell them you want it for home defence your just as likely to get it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Ok last post for me on this, ATK who own CCI and Federal and who are Alliant Powders and about a millon other companies, say that your theory is rubbish, so there two for a start. I just had a look back at some emails i had with ATK and it seems the argument before was regarding HV rounds at to 100 yrds suffering from destabilization due to transonic infulences and in short the answer was a very definate No, seems simple to me. And as they are a international arms manufacturer who produce everything from rockets to computer software, i think i am more inclined to believe that they know what

your transonic theory was explained in some detail by yourelf and one of your followers i agree but the plain fact is the ammo manufacturers totally disagreed with you on that topic, what you were describing, to I think rifle hunter was regarding the effect on 22lr at range or hv ammo or something like that, and the plain fact is the effect is so minimal its more likely that the butterfly effect will disrupt the bullet more !!!!!. But at least you can admit your bullish nature, i suppose thats a start. I would more than willingly have this chat in a pm as i have an open mind to all concepts,

I am sure that if you do that for your work you can get a center fire or rimfire pistol on you FC. a few years ago i had the same suggestion from my old FEO and was going to get one of those judge pistols, but they banned them so i didnt bother as all the others i could find looked like a musket !!!!!¬!!! which a friend of mine has and it recoils like a bitch. -
Having just re-read your last post i think it more or less bears out what i have said, not sure about the hybrid thing either!!!, but i have just mailed CCi on this subject and will post their response. Looking back at my original post on this subject i have to say that your comments are very petty and having looked at your profile and reading what you wrote about your "here to learn so know all`s can piss off", i think you are a bit of a hypocrite, and judging by the way you are so quick to jump on people when you dont understand or agree with what they say or the way you slate people you di

Now correct me if iam wrong but you did say earlier that 17 was not in question, but it seems i was right about that though. also that email just states they dont make it for every tom dick and harry, it does not say who`s they do and dont make and i can indeed accept that they dont make rimfire for every one. CCi are owned by ATK who also own Federal, ATK are Alliant Tech, The same as Allient Powders, Now if you can manage to read the bits you didnt enlarge and underline you may see that i said i think there is fair chance. Your post is no more certain of the companies that CCi produce amm

Surrey took 25 days to do mine years ago, Somerset and Avon are about 3 months
-
to be honest i cant say they do for sure, but as there is only a couple of factories that can produce rimfire and CCi is the largest and as they already produce all the 22lr and 17 ammo for the companies mentioned i think there is a fair chance that they would, but iam not sure that Remi actually do a wmr still. As for Quailifing my response, i dont have to and am not quite sure why a passing comment seems to caused you such an issue.
-
Same as that aslong as there secure you can put them anywhere that meets the guidlines, before i got a cabinet with a built in ammo safe i had a seperate one bolted above the gunsafe for years
-
Fair enough, but if you read on past the hmr your answer is there. Sorry i missed the type bit. one would suspect that every type that the respective name produce would all be made in the same place.
-
well they make Federal, Hornady,Remi and of coarse CCi, in the 17hmr and they make Federal, Remi, CCi, 22 and the 22wmr hornady, but i am not sure if they make the RWS and winnie but i seem to remember reading it some where. CCi have i think the largest factory which is in Idaho, and i am sure that there are only 2 factories in the states that can make rimfire ammo.
-
Dont get a 6-9 i did thinking i wanted keep low, but its so low i struggle to get on the stock.
-
RWS, Winnies go best through my 452, CCi`s dont even go into breach most of the time, Funny thing is most of the 22 ammo in circulation is made in one factory by CCi.

22 is by far the best round, 17 was a fashion statement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Stainless PES it works fine but is about a foot long and weighs the same as a Range Rover, but it works well. -
its ok, as long as your write across it, this is a copy You dont need to because when you copy it the word Fraud appears right across it

Fully agree that the crown needs to be kept in A1 condition, but iam still not convinced that a bronze brush or bore snake will erode a barrel to any degree that would cause a noticable effect on proformance. I think that over a long period there would be an effect but over the average life span of a barrel i think you are far more likely to shoot your barrel out Than wear it out with a bronze brush. The Army issue a bronze brush in their cleaning kits now where as when we used the SLR it was 2x4 and oil in order to reduce wear and extend the life of the barrel. but you must bear in mind tha

I use a bit of 3 in 1 oil on a cotton bud in the neck it seems to do the trick but i have found if i hesitate before i bring the case out of the die ot will stick and what a f***er to get them out it can be, but with one smooth action all the way in and all the way out i get no problems.

Charlie caller is right, if you mess with the length of your barrel you mess with the pressures produced by the ammo, but you may be able to counter act this if you load your own, you can increase preasure by decreasing your load, but you would need to do a good bit of research to get the load right and keep it safe. Yes your accuracy would be effected but as long as the job is done right it would be minimal.
