  1. sorry what is the air rifle issue. do u need more information or are you just blowing!!!. would be interested to hear your thoughts on air rifle caliburs. Duncan
  2. God you sound like a solicitor, but yes i suppose i did so lets try again, the calibur was not designed to be used on foxes but we all know it will do the job within certian limitations, the same can be said of the 22lr and the shotgun and also the little known 17 centre fire. i use all the above for foxing, but limit their use to the limitations i know exist.
  3. As a firearms instructor i have a fair experience of most caliburs and a fair knowledge of how they behave during their short journey. its like using a .177 air rifle for shoting rabbits we all know its posible but the diflection risk is higher than that of the .22. if you would like a complete lesson on balistics and resonsible behavour i do charge.
  4. .17 is not a foxing calibur and should only be used upto 80yrds. no matter who says it no one can rely on head shots at over 100yrds and a wounded animal is just what the antis love, so come on lads get sensible.
  5. Sounds to me like your doing very well your 180yrd group is outstanding at 1.5, i have actually shot a rabbit at 180yrds but the conditions where perfect and it was the second shot that was with a win subbie. but i would never normaly shoot at anything past 120yrds. It was good to read that you have taken the time and expense to get to know your rifle too many dont. i would commend you for this and wish you happy hunting.
