  1. Have to make sure they know next time, increase old Sadiq's majority by a few hundred thousand!
  2. Doesn't remember anything but is sure he didn't shit on the seat? Does everyone in Sunderland sit down to piss? Bunch of women!
  3. Did no one tell them they were supposed to hand their postal vote over to their Imam? FFS!
  4. 650,000 x 2 = 1,100,000? Maths not your strong suit is it mackem
  5. Trusting our nose and eyes kept humans from eating rotten food for 1000s of years before sell by dates were invented!
  6. Sadiq Khan is already in power. He's the Mayor on London... Corbyn and Blair joining forces? No, doesn't ring true at all
  7. Blair has literally zero influence over the Labour party. His "wing" of the party have been utterly defeated and he isn't even an MP...
  8. London, Wales, Scotland and now Gibraltar have all said if N.I gets a special deal they want one too. Clusterfuck
  9. Now that's what I call different gravy
  10. I really can't see a way to sort the Irish border question that doesn't end up seriously pissing off at least one of (or both!) the sides. Like I said before, clusterfuck!
  11. It would commit Britain to agreeing to full alignment of rules on of the Island of Ireland is how I read that when taken in context of everything else that has been said (and even the previous paragraph where it talks about maintaining "regulatory alignment on both sides of the border") on the deal. If what you're saying was the case we wouldn't have the SNP and London politicians saying they want the same deal as N.I because they'd already have it. You wouldn't have the DUP complaining about N.I being set apart from the rest of the UK either because they wouldn't be... https://www.t
  12. My understanding from everything I've read is that the island of Ireland will keep aligned with EU regs not the whole of Britain. I haven't seen anything that says the whole of Britain will commit to alignment with EU regs.
  13. So now instead of the Repbulicans being pissed off it's the Unionists (who May relies on for her Westminster majority) and the SNP are already saying if NI gets to stay in the Single Market and Customs Unions why can't Scotland. What a clusterfuck
  14. Peace and the gradual ongoing change in attitudes hasn't come about by accident it's thanks to the careful balance achieved through the peace process and the GFA and if you don't think erecting a hard border and all that would go along with it runs a very real risk of disturbing that balance and bringing old tensions to the fore then I'd say you don't understand the situation in Ireland (and especially the North) as well as you think pal.
  15. Can't say I share your optimism and simplistic view of the situation. I think you're underestimating just how close to the surface tensions still are TBH.
  16. The so called "divorce bill" covers obligations the UK has already signed up to for the current budget period of the EU (https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/explainers/eu-divorce-bill), sure they could just walk away and say they're not paying anything but that would have a negative impact on the future working relationship between the EU and UK. It wouldn't be a great look when it comes to striking trade deals with other countries going forward either. So the farms, villages and houses would be bought up and the folk living there turfed out and you don't think that sort o
  17. Can't see how that answers any of the questions in my post or indeed how it relates to it at all... Did you quote the wrong post or something?
  18. You're not wrong there. Bit of leftover ham and a couple of fried eggs over the top, breakfast of kings Look forward to that more than the Christmas dinner itself
  19. With you there GL, Boxing Day bubble with brussels is easily my favourite thing about Christmas
  20. What about the farms and villages that straddle the border? Or the folk who travel back and forth for work every day? How would a hard border and physical barrier affect them? There's even houses with the front door on one side and the back door on the other!
  21. That would certainly be the sensible way to go about it. Whether there's enough sensible folk involved in the negotiations for that to happen is another thing though. If it's not handled right it definitely could. Especially if combined with an economic downturn leaving plenty of angry young men without much to lose...
  22. It basically means you can't grant special favours (like no customs checks) to a single nation without granting them to all other nations you're trading with under WTO rules. There's also the problem of Ireland not being able to negotiate trade deals with the UK while they're members of the EU, it all has to be done through them. It really is a very complicated situation with sensitivities that will need to be delicately handled on both the Unionist and Republican sides.
  23. Turkey is in a Customs Union with the EU.... As far as I understand it if we leave with no deal and are operating under WTO rules we won't be able to leave it as it is because it would violate the Most Favoured Nation principle.
  24. The Unionists have already said there is no way they would accept an open Irish border with customs checks carried out on the UK mainland...
